So after two seasons of saying he is crap, your now saying he isn’t crap but we don’t play a style of football that makes the most of his abilities

No im saying he can’t play upfront on his own in this system at his age
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

Keep Fadz, let Fleck go.

Think Fadz has plenty to offer us next season, especially if we get a younger more athletic CB in that he & Dunkley can nurture.

Fleck for me, has been a disappointment. I expected far more from him tbh, he doesn’t control and dominate games at this level like I expected him to considering he was in the Premier League not too long ago.

Release both. We need a younger , fitter and more mobile squad.

It's the little things that tell me McFadz should be offered a deal.

Those little shoves that unbalance a player just enough to avoid a foul.

Those little passes to a blue shirt even though under pressure.

Those little challenges that snuff out threat before a full tackle's needed.

He's a class act who can compensate for his vintage with, well, vintage...

I was a Fleck fan but after the last 2 games its a no from me. I wouldn't be too disappointed if Fadz goes as well. I feel the last 2 games have found them out. Good players on their day but day has gone.

Just to buck the trend, I'd keep both. Fleck took some time to get fit, but he's way better than who has been playing in his position. I agree, he has been poor for the last two games, but who has had a Stormer over the last two matches?
Macfadzean is just a cut above anyone we have at centre back, plus he's been playing out of position through necessity.
The injury crisis did for our season, so roll on August.

Everyone's replaceable. Just depends on who's available to replace our first teamers. Depending on how much money F&F want, they would be good enough to have around the squad in the Mike Jones/Richie Humphries roles to help any younger players.

Time to step it up another level in terms of first team starting players though imo.

Cook will sort it though with the support of the kirks
Here we go again!

Can I review my opinion on fadz please,

Do not give him a contract, id rather have JG, he slows the game, plays everything sideways, nothing that might create, nothing out to the wings in a forward direction...

We didn't have any wingers.

It's obvious that one or two will be surplus to requirements and let go, while others may turn down contracts for better deals elsewhere, but as you rightly say, Paul Cook will want to keep the vast majority of the squad together for the sake of harmony in the dressing room.

I’m not so sure that he will. He may offer Banks another year, fadz the same and possibly Fleck. I’d expect Boot to get another year.

After that I don’t think any of the other out of contract players will be retained.

They have done well given the last two or three seasons but for many this was about their limit.
A new hope.

Maybe Palmer has done enough to get another year?

I guess a lot also depends on Dunkley’s fitness next year
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

And yet... what you say he can't do is exactly what he has done for the last two seasons with us (admittedly he was a little younger last season [about a year in fact]) and he has a pretty decent record to show for it.

No, he's not young. No, he's not going to get better. No, he doesn't have the pace that you're a big fan of. No, he doesn't have the aerial prowess. No, he's not going to drop 20 yards, pick the ball up then smash it into the top corner from 25 yards... However, despite these weaknesses, his stats and what we've witnessed with our own eyes show he does have the ability to play the role he does because the manager has got the team playing to his strengths. It just so happens he doesn't have some of the traits that YOU want a lone striker to have, and as such, you constantly focus on what he doesn't have as opposed to what he does have.

There's nothing wrong with saying you'd like an improved version - we're a Div 2 side so our players are going to have weaknesses otherwise they would be playing at a higher level. But at least give credit where it is due as opposed to sniping about his shortfalls and age.

Palmer as back up for me. I'm sure there's someone who's ready to come in.

I would be surprised if we see banks again next year. He was looking for a 2 year deal last year and will certainly be looking for one now

Fleck. Absolutely not.

McFadzean. There's a case that he could offer player defensive coaching I guess. We shouldn't be building a team that banks on him playing most games at CH though. IMHO

Best thing that he did yesterday was to not take up the opportunity to get sent off. For a while it looked like he was angling for some retribution. IMHO he's a capable but luxury player who drifts in and out of games. Sometimes a lot more out than in. If that's what Cook wants, then fair enough. I'd be very surprised if that's the case though.
