You would assume a 2 year deal. Got that house he is building to pay for.

Has he? Local? Good luck to him. I'm guessing we offered him a year on less money to reflect his reduced use/impact and they'll make him a top earner for twice as long.

Can leave with his head held high, been a major part of our success recently and still a decent player. I’d have been fine with him staying.

Going back to his first spell at the club, I now wonder if I had got Ollie all wrong. I got the impression (without actually knowing anything about him) whether his attitude / ego at times might have got the better of him.

Having watched his podcast with Dave at Legends of The Spire before he came back to the club where I thought he spoke very well and witnessed his contribution here both on and off the pitch over the last three years, I'm certainly appreciative of what he's about as a footballer and as an individual.

I'll be disappointed to see Ollie go and like you, I wouldn't have been in a rush to see him go. I expect there will be a few sad faces in the Banks' household too.

As a club we've spent far too many seasons being desperate to get players out of the club, now we are having to say goodbye to people that we actually think a bit about and have created some great memories with.

I think he lives Barnsley way. Not sure where the new gaff is though. You would assume similar area. Good luck to him if he leaves. Good player.

The thing he did with the 2 Boreham Wood lads (Not the 92?) was excellent. I've really enjoyed watching him play in both spells and he seems like a decent guy. Speaks well. Obviously bought into Town in a big way. If he's going, the very best to him.

Bump

Anyone think we’ll dip into the foreign market like we attempted to in Jan?

Why not, spread the net.
99% of us fans only know what's available in the UK game.
Notts signed Jatta and he was OK all be it seem to be at this level.
I'd be looking to find better that him and I'm sure they're out there

Notts signing Jatta was because the owners also owned the club they signed him from in Denmark.

If we weren’t fully happy with his medical before I don’t see why we’d pursue it any further now

Wasn’t that the York City striker, and the reason it fell through with the Canadian lad was more the financial package? May be wrong of course.

I’m sure on the 1866 podcast, Cluxton said that the issue with the Canadian player wasn’t enough to prevent the signing but it did make us want to restructure the deal with his current club, and that we might revisit it.

Wasn't there talk about looking at Europe for players too? I don't know what happened with the Canadian deal, but I'm sure the club said it wasn't dead.

Ooooooh Dilan Markanday, was what it basically said, with the replies asking what he’d heard. Probably nowt then if it’s been deleted? Strange, as it’s a generally creditable account.
