I didn’t say his legs were gone I said we need legs , ie someone a whole lot quicker, pepple v Walsall ran all the channels got in behind ran with the ball and was direct, he isn’t the greatest but his style was a step in the direction that we need, Doyle in his second season was the best lone forward we have ever had , he wasn’t as skilful as sir jack but he had everything you want in that position, he could run, he chased everything he created goals himself from being so good, we need a Doyle as a first choice and a Grigg off the bench this year

The same Grigg who has 36 goals in 70 games for us? He will be first choice. We need someone off the bench as an option.

We’re not in the national league anymore pal, look at Mullin at Wrexham 98 in 141 , now gone, sentiment gets you nowhere in this game

How about the fact he was 12th in the scorers charts in League 2 last season despite playing a fair few games less that those above him, 12 goals in 32 games.

Grigg got 12 goals last season and whilst out injured we went on a terrible run. He is a massive player for us and I can't see him not being first choice next season. It isn't sentiment.

And, unlike Cheek, he wasn’t handed a penalty every week to boost his tally.

In fact, we weren’t awarded one whilst he was on the pitch.

Did Doyle’s best ever form last for longer than half a season?

Well we sold him in February so he didn’t really have much more chance

Be interested to know how many of those appearances were off the bench as well

If Grigg is fit for the majority of the next campaign he will net at least 20 goals. Top player for us.

Michael Cheek apparently handed a transfer request in….not saying we should but signing him would stop him scoring against us!

Just the reaction I was expecting to be honest. Didn’t Huddersfield pay a fair fee for him when they signed him?
