Also for the supporters health and well being will the club update the 5000+ season ticket holders on whats going off sooner rather than later.

Not what I heard. Agent was looking at any club in order to cash in.

Would an agent cash in on a loan move?

There is nothing to update, until there is something to announce.

Ok. You have an opinion. So do I.

However, to say Sparkes was a million times better than Gordon is quite a mathematical exaggeration.

IMHO the first requirement of any full back is to have an ability to defend. In that respect Gordon was better.

As previously stated, getting crosses in is one thing, those crosses resulting in assists is another. Maybe the statisticians amongst us will clarify the number of assists both players had last season?

For me, Jack Sparkes would be better played further forward that full back when we play a back four. However, we have players for that role.

I get that, and wing back defensively is important but our possession based football for me (it’s only my opinion I’m not a coach) is that I’d prefer someone more attack minded at wing back than a defensive one.

I've heard from a source, who's been accurate with quite a few in the past, that Markanday is a done deal and Coco is on his way out.

Some murmurings on twitter that Drummond might be going back to Oldham. Wouldn't be shocked if Colclough joined him there too. Think they wanted him when we got him
Here we go again!

Be sorry to see him go but his affection from the fans is not really proportionate to his output. If he can get a better and longer deal elsewhere so be it. He’s only ever likely to be a bit part player and might yet end up getting banged up.

He was trying to sort him out a loan then leading to a then permanent move to a league 1 club with the hope of a signing on fee. Just like Dallas two summers back.

Not overly fussed, good player but better than Gordon? I’m not sure.

We need clear and obvious upgrades this season to content for the top 3 and that doesn’t seem like one to me.

He’s a better footballer for sure. Whether he’s an effective defender is what’s in doubt (some of us anyway).

Give over. Gordon is without peer for his predictions and assertions. He predicted every single one of our losses in the relevant match threads for example.

I'm sure Cookie knows we need a much more solid defensive foundation this season. Last year, we were far too error-prone and gave away avoidable goals. Of course, injuries didn’t help, it’s hard to build a settled defence when key players are constantly out. And as we know, a settled defence is a strong defence.

That means having a solid central pairing with a real leader at the heart of it, supported by wing-backs who are defensively minded, ones who prioritise defending over attacking.

I really wish Tanton had been fitter and less injury-prone. From the games I saw him play, he looked real quality.

Agree regarding Tanton. Mom in his first game and I thought we had signed a real gem. Unfortunately, injuries kicked in almost before he kicked on.

If we thought he is over his injury issues I wouldn’t mind him back.

And how would the agent cash in when Markanday was receiving his weekly contracted wage whoever he played for?

A percentage of the signing on fee?

GSM. Southend.

Great going forward but makes Jeff King look like Cafu in a defensive sense!
