Interesting one. Never heard of him before but should be plenty good enough.

I’d be very happy with him. Under contract for another year so doubt they’d be giving him away.

I might be in a minority but I certainly wouldn’t pay a fee for him. Yes, he crossed the ball with a frequency but his crosses to assists ratio was quite low from what I recall. Secondly, he was not particularly reliable from a defensive point of view.
If we are to bring in a new LB he needs to be better than Gordon and I don’t think Sparkes is.
Crazy opinion that… you might say mine is crazier but imo Sparkes was a million times better than Gordon, don’t rate Gordon at all. Doesn’t want to attack defenders, as though he’s got no confidence he can. Defensively he’s not bad, but attack wise we can do better LB
The amount of times Sparkes was able to get decent crosses in aswell

I agree with this entirely. A much more of a Cook type of full back. Great delivery. The 'poor defensively' view is based on him being poor in the last few minutes at Walsall when chasing the tie as opposed to his overall contribution albeit hampered by injury.

well when there's no one anticipating them (see Pepple who has no movement in the box) and with the master poacher Grigg out the side not many.

The fee Posh paid Exeter though and wanting no doubt a large % back it did seem bonkers he would return here unless the deal was right. Obviously moving back, Down south and home would also appeal .

Ok. You have an opinion. So do I.
However, to say Sparkes was a million times better than Gordon is quite a mathematical exaggeration.
IMHO the first requirement of any full back is to have an ability to defend. In that respect Gordon was better.
As previously stated, getting crosses in is one thing, those crosses resulting in assists is another. Maybe the statisticians amongst us will clarify the number of assists both players had last season?
For me, Jack Sparkes would be better played further forward that full back when we play a back four. However, we have players for that role.

Sparkes is also from Exmouth so he may want his next move to be much closer to home which is fair enough.
