I know stranger things have happened, but I can't see this being being one of them.

I read he signed a new contract with Newcastle so they must rate him. Didn't realise he is only 20

Me neither mate. I suppose he'd be ok as a cheap number two behind Boot, if he signs, and at 6ft 6" tall, I would think he'd be handy for hanging the nets without stepladders 😆.

He certainly should be able to command his area, but he has time on his side. Some goalkeepers tend to punch the ball instead of gathering it in. Punching is fine, so long as it's with distance, but it's not something I like to see. If the goalie collects the ball, then the danger has passed. We tend to bring every player back for set pieces, and so a punch from the keeper comes straight back into the box.

I am not a big fan of Thommo, Booot is no.1

He never seems to be able to hold onto the ball and some of his punching options leave a lot to be desires. Surely we can do better.

I'd rather see us utilising Mandeville as a second goal keeper adding another string to his bow

Don't think he'd be going there though if given the chance though

I don't see him as a 'head coach' material.

I just don't see him leaving while he has probably the most secure job in football.

I think he learned the hard way at Ipswich that a move of that sort isn't all it's cracked up to be. He's 40/1 with the only bookie with a market.
He's got a job here until he's had enough I suspect as I don't see there being such a downturn that he would have ever have the fans turn against him (barring the odd West Stand big mouth).

Also rumoured to have recently bought a house more locally and obviously much closer here to his Liverpool roots.

Plenty of Plymouth fans over on their message board want cook down there.
Hasn't this one done the rounds before?

At least once, probably twice since Schumacher left them. Sure they weren't too thrilled at the prospects of PC previously. Obviously their experience with the last three managers has given hem a sense of realism.
