I certainly wish him well for the future. Served us well during his time here. Whether he would return or Cook would want him back I don’t know but, on a free, he would make a useful addition to the squad in my opinion.

Spose that will depend on what fee they want?

I would imagine they are looking to try and recoup what they paid. Anybody any ideas?

Undisclosed, Three year deal. The three year deal might work in our favour if they want rid. I’m a big Lewis Gordon fan, but Sparkes edges it for me. They are different types of full backs so space for both in our squad.

I wouldn't want Kabby back at all. And more relevantly I'd be staggered if Cook and Webb did.

Whatever they might try and recoup they will only get what is offered.

Sometimes, it is as much about getting an unwanted player off the payroll and making room in the squad for a potential target.

Sparkes clearly didn’t fit in at Peterborough so would they want to keep him if they cannot recoup what they paid for him?

Sparkes is a very decent left back to have in the squad, but Posh may push us away with their value of the player. There will be handy young players who don't get a deal in both Premier League and Championship clubs this summer, and if we're held to ransom by Peterborough we should walk away. Duffy can play all along the left side,so would any cash be better spent elsewhere, maybe on a young striker.
They can certainly keep Kabby, although, as I said previously, I wish him well for the future. A very promising career set back by a tackle not even deemed a foul.

I'd imagine that the value of a player plummets when you publicly list them as being available for transfer. I can't see us being priced out.

I would also expect Kabby to sign permanently with Swindon.

I suspect if Cook wants to bring him in then he has made mention of the fact previously that he's been backed by the owners and the board plus Cook wont let the club get taken advantage of by the selling club or player. As mentioned once you basically say you dont want a player anymore it probably takes away a bit of your bargaining power so its unlikely they will be asking that much.

Peterborough aren't known for their charity, and I'd be extremely surprised if Sparkes hasn't got others who would like his signature. Could Harvey Araujo come in permanently as cover for both centre back and left back.
Yes I would think Kabby would stay at Swindon, that's for sure.

Thought Aruajo was a great option early, not looked great since the injury but a strong pre season and full fitness could be help.

I would like to think, that if Markanday is released by Blackburn, we will be trying to tempt him here.

I'll agree, he doesn't look fully fit but he's got real potential, and if we can get him either on loan or on the cheap, he'll be a useful player for next season.

Lots of Swindon fans don't even want Kabby. For Sparkes, he's very useful for L2 but hadn't really made the jump to L1 with all three fan bases saying as much. I'd definitely take him given where we are and he'd be more than useful assuming we're still in L2. I wouldn't read too much into Posh selling because it's what they do. They advertise their wares. They'll want their money back and will hold out given the length of contract. They know he won't make it there hence transfer listing but they certainly won't just cut their loses just yet.

Kabby is an above average non-league player but falls short in leagues 1 and 2

Sparkes did play 38 times for Pompey in a promotion winning team from L1.
Admittedly, don’t know how many from the bench but you’d assume he hasn’t come on as sub in 38 out of 46 league games so should be plenty of starts.
He also played 35 games in L1 for Exeter.
Possibly not figures of a youngish player that can’t make the jump to L1.
