Now I love Universal Orlando, been 5 times and it’s fantastic

Not sure how it translates to Bedford, a lot of the attractions apart from a the Coasters such as Hulk and the water rides are indoors so I guess the weather could be mitigated but I’m not sure how they handle the queues, at Alton Towers and Legoland during the summer the queues make it an unpleasant day out, obviously Universal will be much bigger

In Orlando you have 2 Universal Parks, a Universal Water Park, Seaworld, Aquatica, Discovery Cove, 4 Disney Parks and Busch Gardens and masses of other stuff nearby so it’s spreading the crowds so it never feels overly busy, plus they have a climate with a 12 month tourist season

I will book for the opening weekend whenever it’s released though

I did the one in hollywood and it was expensive but well worth the money and im not a big theme park guy. Highlights were the mummy ride and the universal studios tour. The que’s were long and heat intense but what i liked was you qued under tarpaulins and got a blast of dry ice fans, a thing you never see at english theme parks

Alton Towers is pretty good for what it is, you need to go on a rainy Wednesday for no queues

They are hindered by planning regulations, they can’t build over a certain height

Had some great days at Alton Towers, basic rule is go mid week spring or autumn when there’s no school holidays and you’ll be fine.

The last time I went to florid, the theme parks were basically just one long queue...

Disney land Paris seems to do ok despite the less than perfect weather.

It will bring added prosperity, jobs and such to the area, so great news. And about 20 miles away from me :)

Last theme park I went to was Thomas Land with my grandson years ago. They are not really my cup of tea but having said that, we were regulars as a family to Euro Disney when we lived near there.

This one in Bedford looks like it will be amazing, I'm glad the locals are on board with it.
