Had a look at remaining fixtures / run ins for everyone to see how it could play out. For avoidance of doubt I've only included 6th (Wimbledon) to 12th (Fleetwood) as in the 'play off hunt'. Realistically I think it's 7 teams vying for 2 play off spots - barring someone dropping like a stone/winning 6 on the spin and getting lucky.

Bold - team above them in the league/Top 5
Underline - fellow play off challenger

AFC WIMBLEDON - CURRENTLY 6TH
5/4 - HARROGATE (H)
12/4 - DONCASTER (A)
18/4 - CHESTERFIELD (H)
21/4 - GILLINGHAM (H)
26/4 - PORT VALE (H)
3/5 - GRIMSBY (A)

GRIMSBY - CURRENTLY 7TH
5/4 - MORECAMBE (H)
12/4 - HARROGATE (A)
18/4 - SWINDON (H)
21/4 - PORT VALE (A)
26/4 - MK DONS (A)
3/5 - AFC WIMBLEDON (H)

CREWE - CURRENTLY 8TH
5/4 - BRADFORD (A)
10/4 - CHELTENHAM (H)
18/4 - COLCHESTER (A)
21/4 - MK DONS (H)
26/4 - TRANMERE (A)
3/5 - WALSALL (H)

COLCHESTER - CURRENTLY 9TH
5/4 - NOTTS COUNTY (H)
12/4 - NEWPORT (A)
18/4 - CREWE (H)
21/4 - DONCASTER (A)
26/4 - SALFORD (A)
3/5 - BARROW (H)

CHESTERFIELD - CURRENTLY 10TH - GAME IN HAND
5/4 - TRANMERE (A)
8/4 - GILLINGHAM (H)
12/4 - FLEETWOOD (H)
18/4 - WIMBLEDON (A)

21/4 - BRADFORD (H)
26/4 - MORECAMBE (H)
3/5 - ACCRINGTON (A)

SALFORD - CURRENTLY 11TH - GAME IN HAND
5/4 - GILLINGHAM (H)
11/4 - NOTTS COUNTY (A)
15/4 - DONCASTER (H)

18/4 - ACCRINGTON (H)
21/4 - MORECAMBE (A)
26/4 - COLCHESTER (H)
3/5 - CARLISLE (A)

FLEETWOOD - CURRENTLY 12TH
5/4 - SWINDON (H)
12/4 - CHESTERFIELD (A)
18/4 - BARROW (H)
21/4 HARROGATE (A)
26/4 - NEWPORT (H)
3/5 - BRADFORD (A)

Will keep this updated after each game week but do think our run in is favourable compared to Colchester, Crewe & Wimbledon. Wimbledon are my outside punt to drop out, which might make our game there on Bank Holiday a biggy.

If we just focus on ourselves, the rest should take care of itself with everyone having to play each other.

Starting with tomorrow, however we have a horrible record at Prenton Park, we could probably afford a draw so long as we back it up with 2 home wins next week which could potentially see us 3 or 4 points behind Wimbledon ahead of the Easter weekend.

However Tranmere are where they are for a reason and we should be winning, if we do it could all start getting very very exciting tomorrow night!

We have a shocking record at Prenton Park. Been 3/4 times and the nearest I’ve seen us to a win was a draw, early 2000s.

Our last win at Prenton Park was April 1985 , 1-0 win with a Phil Walker headed goal on our way to winning the 4th Division title.

We're due 1 then. Was 60 years or more sine we last won at Barrow though! Although we've played them once or twice less than tranmere🙂
Here we go again!

It's irrelevant.

Slow day at work Tom? Friday afternoon work if ever I’ve seen it? 👍🏻😂

Seriously, interesting stuff though. I personally think 7th is the only realistic play off birth for us, but would love to see 6th to get the 6.30pm kick-off in the play off first leg. (See my other post in the ‘play offs or not’ thread)

Exciting few weeks coming up

I was at that game, went in a Bedford CF van with 6 others, it broke down 5 miles from the ground, we pushed the van up to the slip road, left it there and luckily flagged down a taxi to take us to the ground. Remember Tranny fans started to run across the ground towards us, some with knives in hand but they turned on their heels when a good number of town fans jumped over the railings ready for a fight. Sneaked on the supporters train to get home, went back next day for my van and it was gone, towed off by the police and impounded and had to pay £50 to get it out, head gasket had gone on the van and had to get it towed back so an expensive weekend but pleased we got the 3 points.

Why is it? We went 6 times to Maidenhead in the national League and never won , sometimes some teams or grounds are just unlucky. Historically we've never done much at Tranmere.

We are going to need minimum 5 wins from 7 IMO. A tall order but possible, starting tomorrow.

Historic results are irrelevant. Luck can change. We could win the next 6 against them.
