After Tuesday my preference has switched to Michael O. Imo all he's lacking is a great manager to bring him on, and we have one. Wor I saw was raw power, strength, vision, lightning acceleration. Wor I heard after was intelligent, articulate.

He's got to work incessantly now on his finishing. Also, he's a big lad and he can help out with defensive set pieces.

I've bored everybody before on how every manager with a loanee has an enlightenment period with a player when he knows before anybody else about potential. We are in that period with Michael. In my personal opinion, and bearing in mind we've got Mandeville, I'd rather invest in Michael.

I have to say that on Tuesday I was so frustrated with him in the first half when he repeatedly checked back onto his left foot without getting his cross in with his right and the chance was gone. His switch to the left wing transformed him - his favourite position apparently. He mesmerised their right side defenders but they were so poor as a team I'd like to see him against tougher opposition. Bright lad, bright future - hope he develops with us as a permanent signing. Our problem is that the better he plays the more interest from other clubs - the Markanday situation all over again.

<div><br></div><div>Having just checked his pedigree I would say that our only chance of signing him is on loan - already made 9 Premier League appearances - probably subs. bur nevertheless Brentford must see his potential hence his contract to 2028 as well.</div>

Markanday doesn’t appear to be cutting it at L1 level with Orient.

Did he just hit a purple patch with us is the question.

Having said that, he did find the back of the net with a regularity and we did seem to miss him after he moved on even though he seemed to displace Mandeville. Also, his inclusion did lead to the average size of the team being on the small side.

Must admit I like the young lad Olakigbe who, at his tender age, should only get better. Also, since Markanday’s departure we have signed Duffy.

If the cost is right I am not against re-signing Markanday but I do think there are more important positions in the starting eleven to address.

Need to see if Michael maintains form

I don't think it would happen as he will probably want League 1 football at a minimum but if there was any remote chance of signing Markanday then he would be right at the top of my wish list.

I reckon if we can match other clubs that are after him contract wise we’d stand a chance

BUT say we were to get Markanday AND get promoted - could he cut it at L1 level for us?

I'd think yes he could. He has a cool head. Makes time on the ball.

Regarding Markanday, could it be that he is just not enjoying his time at Orient?I got the impression he is like Dobs, likes a good managers encouragement and hand on shoulder.
