He's got to work incessantly now on his finishing. Also, he's a big lad and he can help out with defensive set pieces.
I've bored everybody before on how every manager with a loanee has an enlightenment period with a player when he knows before anybody else about potential. We are in that period with Michael. In my personal opinion, and bearing in mind we've got Mandeville, I'd rather invest in Michael.
I have to say that on Tuesday I was so frustrated with him in the first half when he repeatedly checked back onto his left foot without getting his cross in with his right and the chance was gone. His switch to the left wing transformed him - his favourite position apparently. He mesmerised their right side defenders but they were so poor as a team I'd like to see him against tougher opposition. Bright lad, bright future - hope he develops with us as a permanent signing. Our problem is that the better he plays the more interest from other clubs - the Markanday situation all over again.
<div><br></div><div>Having just checked his pedigree I would say that our only chance of signing him is on loan - already made 9 Premier League appearances - probably subs. bur nevertheless Brentford must see his potential hence his contract to 2028 as well.</div>
