I went to the local tip today.

In my haul were two cardboard boxes. The skip you are supposed to deposit the cardboard was half-full, but fenced off.

The attendant said forthright "No boxes today". I asked why "has the world gone mad, what do you want me to do with it?".

His response was "high winds today, take it home".

So my response was "what if I put it in the general waste receptacle next door?"

His response "you are on CCTV, you will be prosecuted".

I walked off, shoe in Domino's and shoe box and both in the correct bin.

I want to know whether:

Either: English people are (if you listen to the football fans (particularly England supporters) or the PM, for example) supposed to be the toughest people on the planet, or;

Or: As I experienced today, with the Trump and Putin concoction, plus other goings on in the world, and the overall fright of being killed by a Domino's or My Little Pony box, and the crippling H&S and MH, are we the biggest mard ar@es and only talk a good fight?

If only for a laugh, thoughts please...

Put them in your own cardboard acceptance bin?

No, for the avoidance of doubt a tip in the Staffs Moorlands, but speaking in respect of the complete idiocy and lack of common sense that exists today, seemingly everywhere.

Chesterfield is as bad. Run by one slightly odd, deranged clipboard wielding type enjoying his “power”.

Are they allowed to keep stuff there? I've never seen people so excited when I took down a box of vibrators I was struggling to shift on eBay.

Bolsover has its own little shop were u can leave decent stuff and also purchase things. I got a cracking set of nearly new branch loppers for £5 the other week, would have cost at least £40 new, why on earth anyone was taking them to the tip is anyone’s guess. Also the shop must have more sets of golf clubs on site than in Tiger Woods lock up. Just make them an offer!
The vibrators had all sold out though. Pity.

More importantly, 44 years ago today we won our first major trophy (if it can be called that!).

.... For just another year my friends, for just another year......

I thought the only thing any tip employee ever said to anyone, ever, whilst at work is "Stick it in the General, mate".
These go to eleven.

There's a restriction of 2 bags of rubbish at Bolsover. Didn't know. I'd smashed some old paving slabs and put them into 5 or 6 bags so I could pick em up. They went barmy and told me off. Had I known I would've put em in 2 big bags and got an hernia.

Clearly that’s not in recyclable waste so should be in hardcore with no bags

I agree.
The rejigging of the parking arrangements is bizarre and ill thought out though, which has all the hallmarks of some jobsworth wanting to make his/her mark.
