I have recently been reading up on the proposals of a CANZUK union. The subject seems to be a bit more newsworthy now we have an "Unfriendly" White House.

What do people think about a CANZUK union? Free trade and movement between Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Personally, I am shifting towards the idea simply based on the fact the US is becoming unhinged and I would prefer to just leave them to get on with whatever they want to do internally. Its fast becoming a nation that is burning bridges.

The four nations in CANZUK have so much in common and I believe a union would be beneficial to us all, particularly Canada.

I just wondered what other folks' opinion is.

I can’t imagine any sane country signing up to free movement with us, maybe they could stipulate any potential incoming’s having to have had a uk passport for 10 years or summat

Countries we probably have to closest ties to and most in common with


As you say, the USA is becoming more isolationist and even more mental than normal. Let them get in with it and deal with sensible nations instead

Its been banded about for a while now and I think with the current geo-political climate being as it is, it seems a realistic option. The USA seem to want to go it alone so I would be happy to see us call their bluff.
