More money could be made if you could buy the adult away shirt in line .
Plus when you go in the shop there's no XL and loads walked out I asked and wes told.
That they have loads behind the counter?
Not very good business if there not on display

I don’t profess to understand accounting, all seems a bit of smoke and mirrors to me, and this is in no way a criticism of the Kirks, but I thought I recall at the last AGM they were hoping to approach something close to break even for 23/24…..or was that 24/25?

I think that comment referred to 24/25, but was with the proviso that they could also choose to spend a bit more money (and in the event I suspect that’s what’s happened).

I assume there is a fair bit of infrastructure investment somewhere in those accounts or at least I hope so.

Training ground, ground improvements etc.

It is, but not on the profit and loss account, but the balance sheet.
Long leasehold (training ground is on a lease isnt it?) £162k. Plant and Machinery £328k.

The reports say that this season's record season ticket sales include the 500 reserved for the Trust. Do figures indicate whether the Trust pays for this block of tickets or is it a gift?

Or is this summat that has only started this season?

There is nothing like that detail available DV.

Will look in detail later this week, but I am out tonight.
Quick look, wages up from £3.9M to £5M. Transfer fees contracted for in the year to 30 June 2024, £100,600. Who would that be for?

A lot of clubs due to file accounts to 30 June 2024, but clearly waiting as long as they can- the deadline is 31 March. Will be interesting to compare.
Meanwhile a comparison to Wrexham when they won the NL.
Losses £5.1M
Wages £6.9M
Transfer fees paid £1.07M!

Away shirts sold out around Christmas. We usually sell 1 away shirt for every 2 home shirts, this season after 2 restocks we have sold at least 2 to 1 away shirts to home shirts. We can only have so many runs with the manufacturer as we're nowhere near as big an orderer as the likes of Man City or Southampton or even Derby or Barnsley.
Everyone had the opportunity to preorder the kits when they were released and preorder was open for 2 months.
Pretty sure that all the adult kits have now sold out, which very rarely happens before the end of the season.

Evening,

Given resolution 1, other than to comply with the filing deadline any idea why the accounts have already been filed at CH prior to the AGM?

Kieran Maguire has often praised us for the level of detail in our accounts, therefore it’s disappointing that the detail relating to our overheads has been simplified compared with previous years. Given that our overheads increased by 29.5%, equivalent to £1.83M and wages accounted for £1.16M of that increase, it would have been nice to understand what the other £670K was spent on.

We are all having a good time, but the reality is that the club is being run in a manner which means that Phil Kirk is paying a lot of f’ing money for his season ticket every year.

Another Q, bank loan interest at £41,174 compared with £983 for previous year. This appears disproportionate to the outstanding balance.

Also council loans, opening balance: £942,085, closing balance: £914,165. Repayable over 15 years with an interest rate of 2.2% above the Bank of England base rate.

Seems to be a misnomer that- as bank borrowings were less than £33,500 at the beginning and end of the yeat. Interest seems to be payable on the Council loans plus there is interest on Phil Kirks loan at 6% - balance at year end ££1.4M

Have we changed the way we pay/employ match day stewards and catering staff?

Average number of match day employees dropped from 54 to 11?

presumably we contract them in now or maybe we pay them expenses as volunteers?

They were advertising for stewards for ages i suspect without much luck as most of them now appear to be hired in via a company.

It's a Sheffield company that buses them in. Derbyshire use the same for the cricket when they need them (not very often).

According to the contents page on the inside front cover, the trading and profit and loss account is on page 28. Unfortunately, the document ends at page 26!

I know that that level of detail doesn’t have to be included in the filing at Companies House, so perhaps it’s going to be presented separately to shareholders at the AGM?

Our accounts filed at Companies House do not usually show the full P and L account- but the ones distributed to shareholders usually do. Hopefully it will be the same this time around.

More accounts being filed:
Per Kieran Maguire-
Stockport County lost over £7 million in 23/24. Losses were underwritten by owner Mark Stott putting in £11m in the form of new shares. County spent over £640k on player signings. Total losses over the years now exceed £21 million.

Port Vale lost £3.8m in 2023/24. Club does have cash in bank, mainly due to owners lending almost £6.5 million in year to take total loans to just under £15 million. Player purchases were £131k.

It’s an expensive hobby this funding a lower league football club.

Missed this post.
Not sure about the filing before the AGM- as you say bit premature ahead of approval of accounts by shareholders.

As above, hopefully accounts issued to shareholders will show full detail as they have in recent years - although we probably issue some of the most detail of lower league clubs.
