I would never begrudge teams that achieve success, they have earnt it. County think they have a divine right to go up & be promoted ..they probably think every other team compared to them is bang average with poor quality players.

How funny would it be if we some how (small miracle) we made it into the play-offs & either played them in the eliminator or the final & won.

I agree that outcome would be 'small miracle ', however, it isn't yet impossible. My attitude is that you don't give up on anything until it is actually impossible. Look at the current L2 table and you'll see that it is still not mathematically impossible for us to reach the play-offs, it is still not mathematically impossible for us to get automatic promotion, and it is still not mathematically impossible for us to win this League. Of course it will be extremely difficult for us to finish in the play-offs, and almost impossible for us to get promoted automatically, but I will not accept that we can't reach any given target until the number of points theoretically available to us cannot possibly take us to that target. I got the feeling at NC on Saturday, that our players had been inspired with that attitude by Paul Cook. The fighting spirit and sheer, persistent hard work right till the final whistle was striking, and enabled us to come out on top against a team with excellent players playing very well. It's asking a lot, but if we can maintain that attitude and standard for the rest of the season, no outcome is impossible.

Another thing regarding Notts fans, in previous years when they've been getting the top side of us, be it by "hook or corlett" their message board as been full of quotes from BB were they try to take the p..s currently there's nowt. They'll be reading it, but embarrassed.

They know what they are.

The lack of jubilation was weird.

I would imagine it was mainly relief after the season they'd had.

Who could they have as rivals? with their perceived entitlement, Forest and derby are to big and would give them an inferiority complex. The scabs are one of their own so geographically it's us.

And maybe Andy Crawfords delightful back heel in '81 is still ingrained in the minds of blanket and flask brigade

I've always regarded Notts a bit like Derby. Local, but absolutely zero rivalry between us.
