Can’t prove it wrong til a brick is laid. But you’re wrong 😂😂😂

Pretty sure the Kirk’s were reported to have said a North stand expansion was the way they’d go. Due to obvious problems extending both the Main and East stands due to the already included infrastructure, and the fact that extending the South Stand would impact sunlight on the ground an extended North stand was probably the preferred option. Pretty sure I’m correct.
East stand second class citizen.

Sadly we can’t get confirmation from our recently departed friend but post No6 is where I’d got the info.

I notice they block off the top of N4 from sale as if they are reserved for something but nobody ever seems to sit there.

You can only select N2/3 for ST sales which is a bit daft. Ideally wanting N4 so I’ll nip down and see what they say.

Pretty sure it’s the North Stand but happy to be proven wrong. Anyhow if it does come to that I’d prefer that than corners filled in, the smaller grounds seem so souless when they aren’t individual stands.

It was definitely mentioned that any future increase in stadium capacity would be a two tier stand on the North end of the stadium.

Fair enough. I was definitely told the East Stand and costings have been taken. So we’ll see.

See above.

Hopefully we get to prove one of us is wrong as it’s a requirement. 🤞

I was disappointed that the stands behind the goals in the new stadium were created pretty much equal. The Saltergate kop was obviously immense compared to the smaller and uncovered away end at Cross St and it gave us an advantage, no doubt. Thankfully away fans are now sidelined in the east stand in the new stadium. If the north stand ever becomes 2 tier that would be great for home fans. Liked those plans to redevelop Saltergate with a huge stand on the kop end.

It is the North Stand. The South stand has that difficulty where the roof casts a shadow over the goalmouth and any upward development would only make that worse. There is apparently (just about) room in the East Stand to add another storey to the offices etc but additional capacity would only come on the north.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

I'm sure Phil Kirk said they were looking at options to expand at the back of the East Stand which fits in with what you are saying. .

Let's face it though, if we ever needed to do further expansion other than the North Stand and perhaps the dreaded corners we would be looking at pitch modifications as well.

The ground would look better with an expanded East Stand and we could definitely do with additional capacity for at least casual hospitality where you can eat/drink inside without going full 'lounge'.

Chemical anchors are just fixings embeeded into an oversized hole with epoxy resin. They would most likely take the weight of one person but safe standing regulation stipulate that the barrier must withhold a surge.
To withhold that surge the anchors would need to be more substantial, making the holes wider and deeper would significantly reduce the bases abilitity to take the downward weight or force generated when fans were jumping up and down.

Why would there be a surge with one person stood behind each barrier, there would be another barrier between him and the person stood behind him?

A similar set up to chelsea, still can't see why that can't be done, but born 1866 seems to know more about the concrete than me, so I'll take his word for it..
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Plenty of lower league clubs have managed to do it as well - Shrewsbury, Scabs, Rotherham, Bristol City etc

Seems sensible to me. Let's fill N1-3 first, before unnecessarily having to increase security staff costs. Just my opinion

There's people in N4 every home game - they just aren't available to buy a ST in

Don't want to put the mockers on dreams of ground expansion but I don't think we will ever see it. 10000 odd is enough for our fan base, especially if they utlised it properly and stopped closing off seats and whole blocks. Having said that I think the stadium ought to have been about 12000+ in the first place which would have been ample. You expand to 15000 and it would rarely be anywhere near full even with a couple of thousand away fans, and just imagine if things went awry again and you end up with 4/5 thousand regularly in a stadium that was designed to hold three times that. It wouldn't look good.
