Honourable mention for JG, after a couple of recent slips, had a cracking game today...

Also a big Thankyou to the Ref, holding the game up for the applause something rarely seen in football...
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Thought all the lads put in a shift today. Mandy or Banksy my MOTM.

Think we have six or seven nominees for MOTM on BB.
Says a lot for a much improved team performance.

agreed deserved win, and because it nestled right into it as ref blew. That?s why their players and management went mad.

Did it? 😂 didn?t even look after the ref blew.

Yes
Class from the ref with that
Fair play as well to the Newport players who joined in the applause
All the best to them for the rest of the season

I didnt see that neither. As the free kick was blocked, the ref blew his whistle and the team and the entire home crowd breathed a huge sigh of relief.

That was like a drink of cold water to a man in the desert. Much needed, well done all the lads.

Was a very solid performance I thought. Nobody had a bad game, though Oldaker did look off it at times and we were relatively solid. Banks, Palmer and Pepple very good I thought. Proper performance and a result befitting of the occasion.

A much better performance today and pleased we have seen some potential ref decisions in our favour. A big praise for the Newport fans and players for joining in the applause. However I do have one minor grumble, as much as the support from the South Stand was excellent today, why did they feel the need to slag off the Newports fans within 1 minute after every single one of the Newports fans stood and joined in the superb applause for Phil Kirk

Did anyone else see some players not celebrating when we scored they just walked to the middle of the pitch ?
Something seamed odd with the players too

My thoughts exactly. Had we lost it would have been 16 pages at least by now with the usual suspects demanding a mass clear out.

Back to his basics for PC with almost our National League team out today - nice to see Dobra, Banks and Mandeville operating together

agree with that, we got our identity back today, could've won by a bigger margin and big praise to boot for that save. great atmosphere today too.

Chuffed for Pepple too, made the usual nuisance of himself today but played better, particularly second half and was so unlucky to hit the post twice.

There?s a player in there for sure. He could develop into a very decent player. Needs to be better in the air and study Will Grigg?s movement but he?s a great kid and his attitude and application is spot on. He was absolutely delighted when he scored. I wouldn?t be against him coming in permanently if available. I think there is plenty to work with and develop.

Thought we played better without out and out wingers. We were a lot tighter across the middle, and there was always someone available for a short pass.

Every player was 7 out of 10 or above for me. Far better intensity than in recent games. Even then, Boot saved us when they broke one on one. How important was that? Even more so, we responded brilliantly after going behind. Heads certainly did not go down and we soon got in front.

An all round team performance and so good to see the likes of Mandeville, Sheckleford, Banks & Naylor back to something like the players we know. Oldaker, too, looked to play the ball forward more often. Pepple ran his socks off and was so unfortunate when both his shots came back off the posts.

Brilliant 58th minute applause all round with a big thank you to the Newport supporters, players, the referee and officials. It is that togetherness which unites all in football.

We did that for Phil Kirk today. 100% shift put in by all players. Well done lads and well done to the Ref, Newport fans and the Newport players and Mng team. Shows that football is secondary in the circumstance. Wishing them the best for the rest of the season.

Well said.

We needed to go back to basics in an attempt to regain some of our identity. We've been crying out to get Tom Naylor, Banksy & Mandy back in midfield starting games and it's a drum that I've been banging for some time. I was pleased with all the lads today and it was good to see Mandy get a great performance under his belt because I feel we've p'd him about at times this season.

I actually thought our performance was deserving of a greater margin.

the response was excellent, whilst their players were lauding it over the south stand, palmer went and got the ball ready for a restart, shecks then drove forward with purpose from the restart and before their fans could finish singing "how Shhhh must you be we're winning aw....oh hang on"
