Put it this way, the Kirk?s are not Dave Allen that will pull the plug & sell every asset. They are genuinely Chesterfield supporters & long time fans?they want the best for this club & go forward.
You only have to listen to them on the podcast to get absorbed with their ambition & enthusiasm to take this club as high as possible

Which is all great and exactly what the club needs but, that doesn't mean they are going to throw money around on recruiting players in key positions. We need a GK; two CBs, a LB and a RB; a DM and a CM/CAM; a CF with serious ability. All with at least League 2 experience. That's some serious wedge we are talking.

We need a keeper and 2 centre mids too, I?d argue even a right back. Question marks over whether you give fadz a year considering his age.

I know what you mean re fadz, but his injury was an impact one, not muscular due to his age, and it was clear to see, he was influential in the defence, constantly talking to JG and organising things around him, (pretty much like Fleck did when he came on yestdi) so I'd give him a year.. and hopefully he can play the majority of games

I’d be more than happy with Boot as back up but a new No1 has to be on the shopping list. Really tricky with Fadz and Fleck, both showing glimpses of their top notch pedigree, Fadz in particular. But question marks about fitness and age.
Similarly with Dunkley, is there precedent for the type of injury he?s had with recovery success, will Arujo be available for a further years loan, any chance of tempting Markandy back. I?d give Banks another year, but would he accept that. Oldaker I?m a bit meh over him?questions and quandaries. Going to be an interesting summer.

Be nice to have all that but with the players I mentioned I reckon we would be top3 this year

If Fleck has a decent few games running to the end of the season, I think he'll get a contract for next season, and I've a feeling that Macfadzean will be here anyway. Both are excellent for this level, and I hope both are here next season.

I don't remember Fleck's, shall we call it 'outline' when he was playing at a decent standard but it was, shall we call is 'substantial' on Saturday. I'd want to see him being suitably mobile and able to play at least 60 minutes first.

I'd give MacFadzean a year from what we saw. His reading of the game, decision making and positional sense was easily League 2 standard. As has been said, his influence on the pitch from the back was also impressive. If he's fit, he stays - would be my call.

He wasnt skinny, but he certainly is more substantial now than he was.
