I’d imagine the standard of the NL these last few seasons is a mile in front of the standard when Mansfield won it, in no small part to the reasons you mention.
Not sour grapes at all because we both did what we had to do, it’s just how the games has progresssed

Straw clutching inbreds best ignored.
You know some years ago one of our regular posters went on Radio Mansfield and stated they weren't our rivals, Then sat back and enjoyed the meltdown.
You can take the loon out of Mansfield bit can't take Mansfield out.of the loon.

They've had their fun. Their time in the sun.
Largely resulting from our own version of their Haslam issues.
But now we're on our way back. And they know it.
We had, what - quarter of a century looking down and laughing at them? Twenty five or so long, hilarious years? The never to be forgotten five-two? Never to be replicated - at ours', anyway - three sides to us?
Whilst they've had a mere fraction of that.
Also remembering how our support still - STILL - eclipsed theirs'.
It might not be this season. It might not be next. Yet they, we and everyone else knows it's only a matter of time before normal service is resumed...

They know we're closing in, and fast.
