They might struggle to claim bottom place, but each of the other three spots are up for grabs. Posted Image

I don't remember any 'hatred' when we played them in '84/5 - just people attending a football match.

You can?t have been there, the chants of scab, scab scab was vociferous

I don't understand them, Sam had to leave to showcase his abilities which would never had come to the fore playing for Scabfield Town. Players want to play football, not get sun blind from trying to spot the ball re-entering the atmosphere after being launched up field by the goalie.

Nah the missing stand allows direct sun light to obscure their view. Loool
God I hate this league.

I wondered why Machine Mart in Scabfield, always listed welding goggles in blue and yellow 😁.

Have to say I'm not into this 'stain' hate and vitriol. True, both them and county have had foaming mouths and hate in their eyes directed at us when we've played them recently. I prefer good, strong friendly local rivalry. I don't remember any 'hatred' when we played them in '84/5 - just people attending a football match.

I was at the 84/85 games and although only 9 I vividly remember the utter carnage on the walk between quarry lane and the bus station after the game. And that was after being held back in said quarry lane end whilst our lovely friends threw half building bricks over the wall at the back of the terrace.

Scum! Always have been, always will be.
Hater of all things Scab!

Was that the 1-0 Mick Henderson win. Parked on the main road near the Byron was a pretty uneventful walk back that way if I remember correctly

Their bench last night included 35yr old Aden Flint, 33yr old Jordan Bowery, 38yr old Stephen Quinn, 35yr old Jordan Rhodes and the back up keeper was 38. Throw in 36yr old Lee Gregory who wasnt involved and you wonder what they are costing in wages.

Poor memory then.
Always been a lot of anger on both sides
Even worse in the 70s buses bricked on the way out of the village and a mass brawl on the Cross Street.
Never ever pleasant there.

Remember our 5-0 league cup win there in 71 Andy?
Not a window left in our East Midland double decker by the time we left scabland!

Mate, I had to think there, I thought you meant Ed Davey, in a liberal sort of way 😁.

Blue Stoops coaches one year back through the centre which was unusual,no Escort.Pulled up at the lights near Brown Cow pub, their finest swarmed forward only to discover riot police suitably attires down a side street.
Such joy to see them scatter and clobbered.
Load cheers from the coach.
We had won if I remember

Hate em

I can remember the advice of not stopping 'even for red lights',and also remember some of my mates thinking that applied anytime for several years after.

My next door neighbour at that time was driving the double decker I was on and he went straight into the East Mid office the next morning and told his boss he would never drive another football coach for them again.
And true to his word he never did.
