I don't understand them, Sam had to leave to showcase his abilities which would never had come to the fore playing for Scabfield Town. Players want to play football, not get sun blind from trying to spot the ball re-entering the atmosphere after being launched up field by the goalie.

Just checked their results. No wins since New year?s Day and eight defeats and a draw in last nine league games and an FA cup defeat. Must be one of the worst slumps of all time especially considering they were doing so well. Good job they were otherwise relegation would be on. What is going on there?

Punching above their weight massively in the first half of the season but that may well just save them from the drop

Their bench last night included 35yr old Aden Flint, 33yr old Jordan Bowery, 38yr old Stephen Quinn, 35yr old Jordan Rhodes and the back up keeper was 38. Throw in 36yr old Lee Gregory who wasnt involved and you wonder what they are costing in wages.

Have to say I'm not into this 'stain' hate and vitriol. True, both them and county have had foaming mouths and hate in their eyes directed at us when we've played them recently. I prefer good, strong friendly local rivalry. I don't remember any 'hatred' when we played them in '84/5 - just people attending a football match.

The hate for Mansfield goes way back before 84/85. Read up on The Spencers Union and you'll understand why they're hated so much. I remember my dad, who wasn't a collier, wouldn't employ anyone from there.

Always been a lot of anger on both sides
Even worse in the 70s buses bricked on the way out of the village and a mass brawl on the Cross Street.
Never ever pleasant there.
