Terry Shanahan, was on a scoring spree (consecutive matches) when his best strike of the lot a perfect right hook, connected with a Walsall jaw earning him an early departure, at Fellows Park. Mid '70s

I used to live in Sutton Coldfield and there were some excellent pubs around Lichfield.....Walsall/Cannock less so! I'm sure you will find a decent booster somewhere. Hope you and your lad have a grand day out mate!

Cheers fella, you too!

Ernie got a hatrick Dave in a 4-3 defeat March 1981.At Fellows Park though , our first game at the Bescot was 90/91 season.

Good interview by Cookie. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Collected the tickets this morning! 0808 to New Street and the Briar Rose spoons for breakfast, then other pubs in the vacinity....drinking in Walsall definitely not on the agenda!

I had hoped we would get near the 2000 mark for this one, but 1700-1800 will still be a good turnout! I honestly think we will beat them too...

Head right out of Briar Rose to Wellington & the Old Joint. Couple of great pubs alongside Old Post Office on the way back towards Head of Steam and The Shakespeare near New St is usually our route

Some good shouts there. Another good one is the Colmore, on Colmore Row, between the Joint Stock and Centenary Square. Thornbridge pub.

It's the week after that proved more memorable, we were in disarray, Shanahans suspension not helping and going to a division below us Bradford in the cup and getting thumped in more ways than one.

Yes what a memory. I recall the weather similar to today. Went on the rob Wilmot bus and had a few pints in Alan birchs pub that was down there before the game.
I remember the game being hectic and noisy ! Great memories

There is an 1866 screen in the pub complex across the road from stadium.
Not sure if it will be streamed, you could ask Tooley on their Facebook page.

Wor I'm hoping to witness is proof of consistency from our new men. If it is evident then we can make a push for the p/o's.

What's an 1866 screen?

The only place you can watch it is via a VPN with an official streaming pass or using a Firestick.
