All teams do this but we seem to do it more than most. Lost count of the number of back passes yesterday.
Indeed it seems that since the rule to prevent goalkeepers picking the ball up there are more back passes than there were before. Good job keepers are much better with their feet.

Love how this makes it sound like the back pass rule is a newish thing when it came into place over 30 years ago. What next, the introduction of yellow cards? Bringing in rules allowing subs?

It?s based on possession based tactics, Cook obviously favours it but when the opposition let you have the ball and then bring on their sharpe/tricky players you can end up with a Cheltenham result when you don?t create clear cut CHANCES earlier in the game.
God I hate this league.

It?s up to the players to make the right decisions in the game, I?m sure Cook gets frustrated when they go backwards at times

I'm not so sure, most of the time when we're 'probing' and a quick forward pass goes astray or gets cut out, he's usually screaming 'PATEINCE' on the edge of his technical area.
