I can't be bothered to read the thread, so I'll be repeating what is said elsewhere no doubt.

The worst thing would be to get promoted again. We don't have the quality to get up another level and stay up.

Another year in L2 will only do us good. This has been a season of discovery.

Discover who can't hack it, where L2 would be a bridge too far for them. Better to determine that in L2.

Have to disagree with this, as a progressive club with keen financial backers, you should always be looking to take promotion if the chance presents itself.

The point being, the squad is getting a nigh on full rebuild in the summer anyway, would rather be rebuilding for league 1 than league 2.

Anyway I’m trying to tell myself the chance has gone, that’s the only way the slim chance might just come off 😁

I hope there’s something still potentially to play for by Easter Monday at least as that Bradford game has the potential to be a cracker!

I've always been optimistic in all things CFC related, so until it isn't possible it's possible.
I'm really looking forward to the game tomorrow, nice and warm and kinder to my bladder. I'm hoping for a 2-0 win but if Will Grigg wants to score 7 and assist Dobra with two more, who am I to complain.

I get webs sentiment of if we win and Grimsby lose we are
3 points behind but if that did happen Tom I fear we
Will still run out of games.

I’m in the content camp overall. Anything now is a massive bonus. I would love a top ten finish

Being optimistic - Madden might even get a hat-trick...

Looks like it, more than likely miss out by 2 points knowing us

If that's the case I'd have no hesitation in blaming Matt "the magpie" Corlett for robbing us of our chance of promotion twice in three seasons

Said weeks ago that we would have more chance if our run in was against top eight not bottom eight, the usual struggle trying to impose ourselves on clubs fighting for points. The joys of being a Spireite .......

Salford v Notts county tonight, as it stands Salford leading which puts them ahead of us in play offs race... but maybe leaves Notts more catchable!

I thought Wimbledon was the team in the playoff positions most likely to be caught but after watching County you have to worry about them  Upcoming fixtures aren't kind

Applicable to the thread about keepers sitting down, Robinson had his sitting down on 17 minutes without any noticeable threat on their goal.

I can see 2 of County, Grimsby and Wimbledon failing to make it into top 7... the question is, who will replace them? Salford currently on a role, Colchester are sitting pretty... and we have a chance...

It's going to be a roller coaster and we just need to keep grinding out wins by any means possible...

Us v Salford at Wembley... (is that Us or U's, who knows!)

Colchester still have Salford and Crewe to play yet so they're gonna be taking points of each other.

Just looked at Wimbledons run in and that's gonna be tough for em

Yep, no easy games from now on, so its all to play for. I'll say no when its mathematically impossible and not before, you achieve nowt if you quit before the battle begins...

Walsall are in absolute free fall. They could struggle to make the playoffs given their form.
