Agree with much of what has been said already.

Sloppy start and from listening to 1866 pre game obviously the thing we wanted to avoid the most.

They were a good away team. Closed us, harried us, made us look and play nervously. They had some good players too, 9, 45, 33. I was surprised the ref showed a red. In the PL with VAR maybe. In L2?I expected a yellow. Was Sheckleford booed because the Vale fans thought it was hi who was fouled? Can?t understand any other reason why.

Colclough disappointing. Other things on his mind?

mcFadzean was hard and what we needed. Good debut ex the mistake.

People?sorry I?m not convinced yet.

Naylor seems very high up the pitch which I imagine was the plan.

Motm Dobra by a mile. Good second half from Mandy.

I?m half full but I think we?ll finish outside playoffs. Tbh the Kirk?s said in a forum they?d be happy to be mid table this year and chance to go again next season.

Still a good time to be a Spireite.

Oldaker is so frustrating, slows the play down and very rarely passes forwards, I think he should be dropped for Banks next game.

I'd be quite happy never to see him play again for us, harsh as that might be.

I'd like to know why our players sprint forward, when Thompson has control of the ball, because he never launches the it quickly to them, but instead, he holds up play until the opposition are back in position and marking our players. He could have set up a quick counter several times today, but didn't take the option.

Oldaker started the season really well but showed today his limitations, he doesn?t have the mindset to move the ball quickly and as a result the game slows down. I think a few of our old guard eg grimes, Oldaker, Mandeville, palmer, Williams won?t be here in August. They have made a huge impact getting us out of that god awful division but we need sharper players.

Agree with the exception of Mandeville.

I wouldn?t get rid of Mandeville, he?s very versatile and always gives 100%

Mandeville is one of,if not the best passer on the pitch most games, he's always available and comfortable on the ball, his lack of pace is the only reason he's not playing higher up the leagues
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Thompson seems to be always looking for a quick release but seems a bit risk averse to do it unless it?s definitely on. No point throwing it out just because our players are running forward, it needs to be the right option.

I totally agree with you. Liam Mandeville has become an excellent player under Cook. He can do a bit of everything good. It wouldn't even surprise me if he put on the goalkeepers gloves during training 😂. A player like Mandy, is gold dust, and he will play at a higher level, with us.

Not harsh at all , he has a run of games where he seems important to the team then rest of the time he passes sideways , backwards , gets caught in possession then strolls around like he?s pirlo.

The frustrating thing with Oldaker is that there is clearly a player in there. Is it attitude? Confidence? Instruction?

Patience is the word of the day for me. I would have loved everything to click immediately but in reality that was very unlikely given that 3 of our starting 11 have only trained a handful of times. It takes time to build patterns in training, and that was obvious today.

In reality, we are only 10pts off automatics with a game in hand, with us having played 3 of the 5 best teams in the division twice already.

Have patience my Spireite friends, I truly believe we have a special end to the season coming.

From tiny acorns?.MacFazdean and Sparkes look different level, need Banks back and to get the zip back in our game there?s quite a close grouping between us and second. I still think we can push on but the loss of the goals is a big issue.

Yes those two are head and shoulders better than anything else we have at the back based on today.

Sparks looks an excellent t player
A new hope.

I don't think there is at this level.

Possibly not mate. He has been good at times this season though. Just massively inconsistent.

Colclough flatters to deceive. Basically a good player who never shows enough. Dobra on other hand is simply a great player who gives 110% every time.

Madden looks pedestrian and added nothing when he came on. Just think we need to press higher

Yes, it's got to be on,but as a goalkeeper,he can't wait to decide over thirty seconds, and I think that if it comes off and creates a chance, it's worth the risk. I'd rather lose the ball higher up the pitch and press, than do what we did several times today and lose the ball in our own half with dangerous passes. I'm all for the measured build up as teams tire eventually but now and again it's worth the risk to go longer.

Not impressed at all with Madden, have we been conned.
