Just wanted to let people know that Craig Thomas, the editor of 'The Crooked Spireite' for many years, passed away before Christmas. I attended his funeral yesterday and it was a very moving and emotional service. There were a small band of ex CS contributors there so it was nice to catch up. I know that Craig wasn't everyone's cup of tea but I travelled the length and breadth of the country with him - so a sad loss I feel. Just wanted to let people know

I enjoyed reading the Crooked Spireite back in the day.
If anyone has the book "Get your Writs Out" some editions of the CS in there - including Radders and the "ejection special".
RIP Craig

Blimey Dave, that's really knocked me sideways.
Craig was a terrific person, excellent writer and enthusiastic Tairn fan.
Please give my very, very best to his missus - a Birdholme lass - and family...
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

this has knocked me for 6. he was my teacher for a number of years and a bit of an inspiration to me and others. taught me history and politics and obviously we had the town connection. in fact still got his book in the garage somewhere with his scribble 'hope youre not a duncan fan dave' in it. Managed to grab a few words with him over the years and remember seeing him in the away end at QPR that year - he left before kick off. a real shame and if the family are reading this then pass on my sympathies.
