It seems that the local Rovers journalist has had a change of heart and is now stating that Markanday will be recalled and sent to Leyton Orient in League 1.

Apparently you will also sign Kyle McFadzean on a free from us this week too. He is not the tallest, or the fastest, but is a real warrior and organiser at centre back, and without him signing for us last winter during an injury crisis (on the same day we signed John Fleck who was an injury prone disaster) , Rovers would probably be in League 1 by now.

McFadzean will be 38 next month, and has hardly played for us this season due to the great form of others rather than him no longer being trusted, apparently he just wants to play and he is originally from your area, and I am sure will do a great job in League 2

Let's hope that, one Blackburn are as tight lipped as town when it comes to transfer news and two the local journo like a lot of local journos is just speculating and picking snippets up from social media and enhancing them with a view of getting some click bait.

Hopefully

Elliott Jackson (aforementioned local journo) doesn't to my eye seem to have any inside knowledge/contacts and rarely reports on transfer stories unless they are to all intents and purposes already done and he is trotting out the club narrative

Recalling a player just to loan back out is so unreasonable. Don't agree to a season long loan it you don't want them there for the season.

So, we recalled Drummond, Hobson and Akinola early from their loan spells whilst it is strongly rumoured Pepple is on his way to us having been recalled early from his loan spell at Southend but it is not the right thing to do when it is done to us.

A loan is a loan and carries certain conditions meaning all parties know what they are entering into when they agree the deal.

We might miss Markanday but we might improve in other areas as the squad evolves and improves as a whole during this window.

Leyton orient ? Isn?t that London?

I think he was born & brought up in Barnet

I still think/hoping Blackburn are looking at maximising their outlay on him either by clubs paying for his services or by a permanent transfer fee.

I'm sure they would have recalled him by now if they just wanted to take a look

I think the main hope is more about testing him out in League 1 with the intention of hopefully adding him back into the first team squad next season in the Championship rather than maximising income. However, if he doesn't push on as much as Rovers hope (Championship standard), then I am sure a decent loan spell in League 1 will add to his eventual transfer fee

Its happened to us before too, on more than one occasion, and it does feel like a kick in the gut, but that is the chance everyone takes with loan moves

They got to the bottom of that injury. He?d had a plate in his shin which was too big and causing discomfort so they?ve put a smaller one in

He managed 17 minutes in total at Rovers (before missing the rest of the season with the metal plate thing that was just mentioned). So you guys have had double the use out of him that we did. He did look ok at Championship level too (albeit a very limited sample size), so I am sure if fit, he would be more than serviceable at League 2 level. He unfortunately just seems to have legs that are made out of biscuits.

I don't know what you think there is to be found out. We signed him, he got injured. That's all there is to it. Any player can get injured. We have no idea of the finances, he may well be on a low basic heavily weighted to appearances in which case it's been a low risk gamble.

So we shouldn't sign a player because a random bloke goes on a forum and says his legs are made of biscuits?
If that's the case we would never sign anyone as EVERY player will have something negative said about him, by a fan, sometime in his career

Does anyone think Markanday would have to be dragged kicking and screaming to Orient?

Not really, he?s moving home. Going up a league to a team that is flying and sets up very similar to ours. Taking my blue tinted specs off it?s a good move for him. Massive loss for us though
