Sorry mate but weather forecasting is tripe?.they can?t accurately forecast a day in front. This country craps itself with any hint of snow?..3 flakes and it grinds to a halt. Hate all this nonsense.

That post is tripe

At that time all they'll know is how much it's snowed overnight.

Reckon the 7:45am pitch inspection will actually result in a decision?

Reason I ask is I'm travelling down from Newcastle (moved away years ago but our group tries to make it to a game around xmas every year and pay a few quid more for hospitality), and the last time this happened (Notts County a couple of years back now), they kept delaying a decision.

Had to set off and take the risk, made it as far as York before it was called off so carried on down anyway and had a few pints in town with old school friends. Will probably end up doing the same but as crap as it is for me doing 150 miles, be worse for the Gillingham fans.

If the snow's a foot deep we might get an early call-off. More likely a plea to help clear the pitch if some has come down.

Temperature won't be an issue. It's not likely to go below zero.

It seems a barmy time,(unless we don't want it on) when a couple of hours could make such a difference.

Looking at the refs previous appointments he'd better get his thermals on, it'll be the first time he's refed north of P'boro. He'll probably get a night in Casa though.

I thought they sometimes used local refs to make the call if the official ref has to travel and an early inspection is needed? Not the case?

What time does the away team travel though, I'd have thought that'd be a mitigating factor. Or will they have had an overnight stay?

That's generally day before.

I'm guessing he's based Londonish (based on his previous games), could you be confident of getting up here for 12/1 o'clock especially if there's a2nd inspection?

Perhaps they took them off this morning knowing it wouldn't be going down below zero from now on. The covers might get in the way of any clear up if they expect the snow to be followed by heavy rain.

Bit suspicious if they never put them on. I see Matlock has been called off for a frozen pitch

Rare I say this but I wouldn?t mind it being off. Sunday 3pm is weird. Also another chance for squad to rest. Maybe get a few closer to fitness.

Yes, I agree, a Sunday kick off time of 3 PM is a strange one.

Looking at the Gillingham message board there isn't much enthusiasm for getting the game played either
