And I hate it that Bromley could be seen to be doing better than us.
We are in need of a January filip - Markanday staying would be such.

because I think that todays L2 matches are part of the original 3pm saturday matches and as such are bound by the 3pm blackout rule
they have been moved because of matches played a day after the New Years Days matches

That's correct. All 4 teams that played Thursday had their Saturday games moved 24 hours to give them the required 2 days off

It's the right outcome for us at this moment in time.
The hectic festive period will have increased our chances of picking up further injury issues, so I think today's decision will hopefully prove to be to our benefit in the long-term.
I did ask whether or not Dave Pace had an hour or two to spare last week, for me he's a game too late!

Sorry to labour this but if they are subject to the blackout rule, why are 2 of the scheduled 4 matches advertised in the SS+ online schedule?

Because they were originally selected by Sky for Sky+ coverage and were originally moved to Sunday games for that reason. Ours wasn?t

Ta. I think I've got it.
The list on the SS+ website is just the fixture list, NOT a list of those matches they intend to screen (which have a little flag against them). In my defence, that's not what I asked for.
I don't know how they expect us old farts to cope.

Bromley have had a settled side with next to no injuries. They are very hard to beat. If we?d had the same amount as injuries as them we?d be realistically looking at an extra 9+ points minimum on our current points total.

I never think we do well after an extended break. Training will probably get pared back due to grotty pitches and the lack of bodies won't help. Got some difficult games when we eventually return to action. I agree suddenly a gap has opened up. Big decision to be made about what kind of team we put out for the Rotherham fixture. Keep players ticking over and risk more injuries?
I think I must be the only one that wanted us to play today.
Having said that the snow isn't disappearing that quickly. Not raining as much as expected!

Dodgy travel to the game is just another excuse when a club doesn't want to play. In 2010 (January 3rd, remember the date, it's when we beat the team we hate) Man U v Leeds at OT, 1pm ko, live on Sky. Pitch obviously OK but tricky drive over the Peak and all surrounding streets and pavements were solid ice. Game on.
As soon as last night's forecast was clear there was no chance of the game happening because, rightly or wrongly, CFC didn't want to play. Don't worry about those who had paid for transport or hotels.

Agree with your first comment,I struggle to remember us playing well after layoffs, but in my 66th.season I can recall a lot of poor performances after even when overall we were having good seasons.

I think there's pros and cons tbh, we have time to bring back players from injury, others may come in during this next week and the attendance would have probably suffered badly from the weather. On the cons side, losing ground on those around us, chances on fixture congestion, if we have more bad weather, and me getting a booting from the wife,as she'd got her day all planned out and now, in her opinion, the ref should be hung drawn and quartered lol.

That?s the risk us as travelling fans take I suppose, maybe just to add to your point it?s just been announced that the Liverpool v Man Utd game live on Sky this afternoon is ON.
As an aside aren?t we liable to Gillingham FCs expenses, ke travel and hotel costs, due the game being off

Ironically, most of the Man Utd fans travelling to Anfield will no doubt have further to go than the Gillingham fans travelling to us.

I'd assume they can claim back from tbe FA as its their ref who has called it, not CFC

I imagine Gillingham did not travel yesterday and that is why the inspection was so early today.
