Has There Ever Been A Player Who Has Done Much After Being Recalled From Loan?

It got me thinking has there ever been a player who has made a consistent impact after being recalled from loan? I can't think of one, they usually end up being transferred and drop down the hierachy.

Comparative to the level Jim Kellerman did well on his return too.

I wonder if the EFL has a rule whereby a loaner club (say Blackburn) has to notify a loanee club (say CFC) by a certain date if they intend to recall a player half way through a loan, who is formally on a season long loan (say Markanday)?
There should be a deadline date, well before the last day of the window, after which CFC can announce that Markanday is staying.

I just hope he stays mate and we get him on a free transfer in the summer, now that would be an early 2026 Christmas present.

It would go down as a Kirk Coup. On the other hand, we could be scratting about at 1 minute to midnight on deadline day for a replacement if Blackburn leave it till the last minute to recall him. That shouldn't be allowed by the way if a full season loan is the overriding contractual arrangement.

That's just daft
Anyway it would nullify the deadline day drama. What would all those Sky reporters do camped outside stadiums and training grounds.
I'm afraid Chesterfield will just have to manage the situation like 99% of other clubs have to do. We have advanced knowledge of Blackburn's possible intension so should have contingencies in place. I would think if he just going back for assessment, he'll be gone sooner rather than later.

It would stop teams sending players out on loan surely, if they thought they couldn't get them back at all, all season?
I doubt we'd have let Drummond/Hobson/Akinola all out on loan if it meant a full season without them (i know they were to the NL so different rules apply, using them as the example).

If it's announced as a season long loan it should be a season long loan. Have Blackburn suddenly had an injury crisis that they haven't told anyone about cos that would be the only reason for recall under the Season Long loan agreement.

If there is a clause that they can fetch them back in the January window there surely isn't anything town can do to stop it ? If they can sell him now then they are going to do so

Even if a recall clause wasn't inserted at the time of the agreement, the EFL allows one to be subsequently added to any agreement and doesn't stipulate that any reason be given for an early recall, as long as its within a valid transfer Window:
STANDARD LOANS
56.1 Subject to the provisions of Regulation 55, Standard Loan transfers shall only be approved in accordance with following provisions:
56.1.1 subject to the proviso that the duration of a Standard Loan must be the time between two Transfer Windows, Standard Loans can be for half a Season or a full Season;
56.1.2 any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the Winter Transfer Window;
Guidance The EFL will permit Clubs to amend Standard Loan Agreements to include an early termination clause where this was omitted from the original agreement.
56.1.3 any other early termination of a Standard Loan must be by way of a mutual agreement in writing (including by way of a recall clause within the Standard Loan Agreement) between the Transferor Club, the Transferee Club and the Player but can only be completed: (a) after the expiry of 28 days; and (b) only during a Transfer Window (but subject to Regulation 56.1.4 below) unless otherwise agreed by the League in its absolute discretion (subject to such conditions as the League deems appropriate).
