I think it?s incumbent on the board members to try to behave properly and restrain themselves, maybe step away from the keyboard for a while when passions are running high.

Otherwise, as this is not a free speech platform (but a voluntary platform with rules) if disputes start to escalate, the mods might just take the view that it?s too much trouble to filter comments and unilaterally close this section of the forum. Sort of an - abuse it and you lose it - rule.


In closing, I?d like to add my own controversial opinion and wish my fellow forum members a very Merry Christmas with the hope of a prosperous 2025 for our Spireites.

This is what I was alluding to, in common law they refer to what the ordinary man on the clapham omnibus might think - well it would be nice if we all behaved in a way like the ordinary man on the clapham omnibus might behave (back in 1900 too!).

Never a need for an insult just because someone has a different view to you, never a need to get personal, if someone doesnt agree then either try to convince them with evidence or move on...

As for who may have complained, only the person that did it knows and only they can therefore out themselves. Anything else if pointless supposition.

Have a fab xmas and new year, no doubt we all have different views on what makes a good one of those but lets not start an argument over whose xmas was the best!
