Naylor is a big aerial threat in corners, we saw that last season with the amount of goals he scored and already in games this season (Crewe game, Notts county game). Problem we?ve had this year from set pieces IMO is that we?ve just not had enough ?big lads? out on the pitch at the same time enough to be a consistent threat from set pieces, as if you?ve only 1 or 2 that are any good in the air it?s easy for the opposition to deal with them. Yesterday at times we had 3/4 players very good in the air in the box meaning at least one of our best headers of the ball is going to be marked by a weaker opposition player, and it didn?t surprise me that we then looked much more of a threat and ultimately led to the goal.
Tell you what though as well, that corner from Colclough was the best delivery we?ve had into the box all season and I can?t remember him taking another corner all season other than that?

I agree re number of big lads on the pitch. As a side we are just too small and lack a physical presence. Colclough delivery very good.

I expected the highlights to show that Grimes had started his run for his goal by outmuscling a defender, but there wasn't one anywhere near him. That's as poor and worrying as it gets for any defending team.

I'm a big fan of Harvey, but I think the strongest CB pairing we have available for selection is Williams & Grimes. Both have done nothing wrong, but both go about their business with an obvious point to prove. We know they will need a bit of cover at times, but their aerial presence and the physical side of their game outweigh the negatives.
Due to injuries, we've lost a bit of our identity and struggled to find some consistency, so for me it's pleasing to see the likes of Ty, Grimesy and Mandy featuring as well as seeing Tom Naylor back in midfield.
For all the mixed performances, we're sitting in a play off spot and just 4 points off an automatic promotion spot which suggests to me that we're not as bad as some people make out.

Apart from the worldie tackle on our byline yesterday, I don't think Mandy has put in a good performance this season which I find concerning.

I'm cool on the subject, mainly because he's been in and out of the side and generally been asked to do a job in every other position barring his own. With the exception of Markanday, I thought Mandy and the rest of his teammates did OK yesterday without setting the world on fire.
I'll settle for a few more OK performances, with a clean sheet and 3 points.

He was tussling with his marker on the edge of the box but lost him by fair means or foul and nobody else picked him up. The camera didn't really show it.

I think that is the same with a lot players. Madden and Colclough are similar, as well as being injured they seem to be living off scraps. They probably need a run of games but that is the nature of the beast with us having competition in those areas.

Not a great match, overall, but we kept at it for the full game. And let's not forget those on the terraces, especially those who travelled from Barrow.
Onwards to get a bit of revenge on Caldwell now.

100% agree. How those 4 play will determine whether we get automatic, playoffs or mid table

In fairness to DJ, he did put it about a bit yesterday which is a side to his game that I would like to see more of.

A bit less gung-ho in the interest of a tighter defence, in other words.

Think that?s why Arujo is being used when fit but Grimes gives us a stronger presence in there.
Both lefties though.

About every couple of months I have a grumble about our rotten corners, and in particular the non-attacking of the back post. So it comes as a relief when we get a good, old fashioned central defender running and powering a header in. Let's have a lot more.

No reason not to play both alongside each other.
Would you not play two DMs, CMs or CFs together because they're both left-footed or both right-footed?
If they're the best two CHs we have, play them.
