it looked like Koyate handballed it and tried to claim it Williams. A stunning bit of acting.

Must add, thought he was absolutely horrendous, worse than anyone we faced last season

Absolutely loved it mate, wants to do it again next year 😂 met the players, got his ball signed, kicked ball about on pitch and? missed our last minute winner cos he wasn?t looking. The players were brill with him, in particular Grigg who seems like a lovely chap.

Just seen it back on the full match highlights on YouTube, was definitely Williams handballing it. Not sure if it?s as intentional as I thought at the time though!

Bludddy hell.
It looks very much to me as though the ref gave Araujo a second yellow card on 27 minutes. No wonder Cook took him off.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

The ref could,no should have been a little less flippant with his yellow card earlier in the match and then,if he saw the handball he could have booked Tyrone Williams, but then again,he short changed us when Tanton was flattened in the box. It could be argued that it was obstruction, but for me,it was more a penalty than the Williams handball was intentional.
We seem, hardly ever to get the rub of the green with the officials,so if we got one bit of luck, then so be it. Hopefully, the ref will give us five penalties on Saturday and we beat Gormless Gary by eight goals to nill 😁.

The foul by Araujo resulting in a booking was very similar to the one on Tanton apart from the position on the pitch.

For me,that one was obstruction, but not a yellow card.

Think the ref saw it as a very deliberate action to stop the attacker breaking into space and these days they are nailed on yellow cards. If you see the replay Araujo does take a step to the side to get in the way so ref saw that as a pretty deliberate action to take the attacker out.

Yes, I have watched it,but I still feel it was obstruction, but then again, it's all about opinions, and the same ref who thought Araujo had deliberately moved across his man, seemed to think that there was nothing wrong with Tanton being upended in the box. No penalty no indirect free kick and no yellow card.
I always find it amusing, how the ref interprete the rules differently in the same game.
We can have our opinion, and I always value everyone's,but I do find refs pretty poor these days.

I agree about the refs being generally poor these days. They often make life difficult for themselves with a poor decision leading them into other issues later in the game etc or just general handling of games making it more difficult for themselves.

I think in this case the way Araujo steps across the attacker looking like he knew exactly what he was doing likely made it more than just obstruction to a more deliberate attempt to stop an attack which is pretty much a yellow card every time these days.

As I say, it's all about interpretation, and I've no doubt that if we scrutinse the match we'll see more than that one incident by both sides, but in my opinion we should have had a penalty on Saturday. If Grimes had committed that challenge on Andy Dallas, there would have been a penalty, and this is why I get wound up with the officials. The same move that Araujo did on Saturday, happens to Grigg all the time, and worse, but he gets nothing for it. I can fully understand why Cook gets carded on a regular basis lol.

Is it because we are in the grip of the 'days of social media' that referees in general seem more interested in promoting themselves rather than actually supervising a game of football?
