It was the right decision, the back pass rule is for anything played back below the knee.

Ref signalled that the ball was off the thigh.

When it?s not a back pass!, thigh is not a back pass my friend.

Directly in front of us and I am sure it was his knee,no idea if the rules state that is an OK part but in real time looked off the knee.

Apparently anything above the ankle is ok.

We?ll obviously take the win and I?m delighted that we did, but anyone saying that today we deserved it is deluded.
In terms of chances, we created nothing all day.
It took us 55 minutes to have any kind of shot, let alone one on target.

Today was the biggest smash and grab going.
I?m taking it, don?t get me wrong, but performance wise did we deserved it? Not at all. We were second best most of the game.
But, we have 3 points so we move on.

And how many chances did Barrow create to make it a 'smash and grab'?

More extended highlights on OS now.
Can only assume Clarevoyant hasnt yet see them - as no comment yet on the clear foul on Tanton early on which should have given as penalty.

No I haven't yet, but it would be pointless as I've resigned myself to the fact I appear to not have a clue as to what a penalty is anymore. So I've moved onto something most of us learned to do a very young age, tell the time. At the moment I'm trying to fathom how time seems to be calculated totally different in first half of matches compared to 2nd halfs. Baffling

Too true.
Look forward to reading your view of the Tanton upending.

Genuinely can?t believe this opinion haha, biggest smash and grab going? We were far from good, conditions were a leveller but we still hit the bar twice and it was a pretty even match where both teams had spells of dominance.

We hit the bar because the keeper touched the ball with two very good saves

Based on history I wouldn't expect to get that, if it had been around the half way line we may have got a free kick. If however the offence was on that Mullan chap for Wrexham stonewall pen and maybe red card.

That,in my humble opinion was a definite penalty. The defender got nowhere near the ball and the look on his face told you he thought the ref would point to the spot. Oh well, it's something else the club can bring up with the powers that be.

And once again I will ask the question, why do we have 11 players back for a corner? To me this makes it very difficult to relieve pressure as the ball just keeps coming back at you unless the keeper gets chance to grab it.

Stats suggest otherwise in terms of chances etc. we weren?t great at times but I thought we finished the game stronger than they did.

I love cookie but this one thing drives me mad. He?s always done it. Having markanday and dobra back is ridiculous

The first yellow card was an absolute outrage.

The fact he booked Araujo for that and didn?t book their guy for flattening oldaker from behind was ridiculous. Williams arguably was a booking as it was a bit of a lunge as the guy was about to break into the box.

From what I saw it was good in a way to see us grind out a win in tough conditions not playing that well. Yes we didn?t get going as well as we have at times in the last year but it was tough in the conditions and under some pressure with wins lacking at home. We finished the game way stronger than them and they didn?t create an awful lot either as the stats show. Closest they came was a bit of fluke miscontrol hitting the post after the wind played havoc with the flight of the ball to cause some confusion at the back.

It seems to be the modern way to do it as most teams seem to do it. Presume it?s stats driven in some way as to why?most things in the modern game are. At least we defended the ones they had much better than they did for the crucial one at the end!

Mind, I would say they had three big chances.
The Dallas flick that hit the post, the free Kirk header (where were our central defenders) that he should have buried and the Dallas fresh air volley effort in the 2nd half - when a simple side foot would have done the job.

Too fast to book anyone in blue and white, but he wasn't very quick on his feet booking the opposition. The Tanton upending in their box, was seen clearly by both, the linesman and the ref, and wasn't deemed a foul. Apart from that one incident, the linesman on the West side had a decent game, as I think every offside decision was the correct one.

But it actually got guided back to keeper off his foot as it hit his knee first and very much like last weeks at Harrogate

He made a pretty deliberate attempt not to pass it back with his foot. If it did hit his foot it probably would be deemed unintentional.
