The few home games why is the kop been so quiet?
At times they are brilliant but for 70% of the game they are flat .
300 odd away fans can be heard and are louder
We need chats where everyone can join in a raise the roof and make the team pick up a gear

yes I've hit on this as well , a small amount of away fans seem to sound sharper louder and crisper but the noise from the south stand sounds muffled even the new drum sounds flat , I've sat in every area of the ground and it always sounds flat from the south stand , and before any smart bottom gets involved there's nowt wrong with my hearing and not pulling fans choir down it's just flat unfortunately.

Mentioned over the past few seasons that there is a clash between S5 and S3,never seem to be in synch.Sitting in S4 I start with one and then get distracted by the other and fade out and stop.Would imagine this happens to a lot more than just me,it affects the volume and sounds confused and possibly muffled at times.

I sit in the east stand near away fans so obviously can hear them drown us out often. But I can barely hear Yogi on the drum.

My son often sits in the North stand and comments regularly that he can?t hear much from the Kop. I?m in the South stand and some of these times I?ve thought we?ve had a great atmosphere in there. Perhaps the open corners mean you lose something and the sound doesn?t always travel well.

It would help if we could turn the draws into wins. Most of the football has been good but fans seem a bit tense waiting for our defence to mess up. The kop do a good job but it needs the whole ground joining in to create a great atmosphere, after all we have plenty of home fans nigh on filling the ground each week.

We're in W7 and now play 'football in a library' bingo (from the away support) earliest so far this season has been 11mins, usually it's around 15mins, the kop starts well but if we don't get an early goal, we they soon go quiet,.. it works both ways, it needs the fans to lift things at times..
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

the atmosphere isnt helped imo when for example against Colchester after 70 minutes just as the kop were beginning to

get the noise up a notch or two as we were starting to put some pressure on their defence the keeper

suddenly goes down wringing his hand in mock agony requiring the referee to stop the play

the colchester physios trot onto the field as part of the pantomine and the crowd naturally goes quiet

as nearly two minutes are spent treating the so called hand injury

its alright people saying the referee can add the time on at the end of the match but that moment in

time in the match when the atmosphere is being generated has of course been lost making the oppositions

task of defending their goal all that bit easier and getting the crowd noise back up again always seems

that bit harder

Blimey!

You're not claiming that these highly trained professional medical personnel are spending time treating a none existent injury and therefore by action bringing the credibility of their profession into disrepute. Shame on them for being complicit to bent coaches demands.

I don?t blame them. The cancerous scourge that is capitalism demands they kowtow to their bosses? demands, lest they be relieved of their position and be left either jobless or with a potentially worse paying job.

Agreed, they are having to succumb to their bosses who due their own inadequacy have to belittle what should be a highly respected profession.

Anyway the post was a bit historical, referencing self proclaimed 'in the know people' claiming such things never happened.

I wait for our attack to give us a 2 goal lead.

Just like every ground in England. Why should we expect to be different?

Happens all the time mate. This is game management to take the sting out of us getting the upper hand just as we're getting on top. It is perfectly acceptable in the modern game apparently.

Probably sound louder if they all sang together instead of the ones on the left being slightly behind the middle. It sounds like distorted stereo.

On the chants note thingy. Surely we can come up with a better chant for Berry... that Berry Berry on the wing chant is far too long for most to get a grasp of, and tbh .. pretty crap too...

I'm no acoustic expert by any means but the sound from the south stand comes over very flat and so does the drum even though the majority of the South stand are all singing , it's just something we've just got to get used to a poor acoustic stadium which isn't ever going to be loud and crisp

I used to work with a guy, who if Chesterfield had been just slightly closer to the sea, he'd have been the first human foghorn. You could hear him over the sound of a road drill if he was 500 yds away on half volume. You'd certainly hear him on the kop.

wow that's nice to know but will it solve south stands problems with lack of volume ?
