When you have a complete lack of English options im not sure there was anything else they could do. Howe talked up but only really done well when had financial backing, potter was an option potentially at one point but he?s been out of job for a while now and seems to think turning down Lyon and Ajax were good decisions.

Because IMO foreign managers don't have the same desire for success for the national team than an English manager would. Sven with 59.70% and Capello with 66.67% win rates did well but didn't come close to winning anything. Southgate did come close with a win rate of 61.1%. If you look back at World and European winners, not many will have been managed by foreign managers.
Sad indictment if the country can't grow their own. Eddy Howe is worth a punt.

The FA coach development idea doesn?t really have wings as they have proved. Tutel signed his deal but info held back because of Carsley?s allocated games.
The tie situation sums the FA up, if we win anything it?s certainly not down to planning.

I?m obviously pro FA and have gone through pretty much every course they?ve done but it?s not a great advert when men?s and women?s sides are managed (although not coached per se) by foreign managers.

The FA has been flawed for many years in many ways.pity Carsley can play with the Team until end of December. The manager could have brought some of his ideas in the non description Nations trophy.
