Average Attendance Topic

So far this season (and i know it's still early), but we are averaging close to 9,000 for every home game. With a home fanbase growing all the time.
Today v County, we will have 9,000 home fans in the ground
At some point (if we continue the momentum under Cookie), it will come down to supply versus demand at games & will only force one way...higher ticket prices!
When do we think there will be a breaking point of...'right, do we expand areas of the ground?'
An interesting example is Bournemouth - Premier league..Average home attendance is 11,224 - they haven't expanded the ground, but supply v demand is their attractive source of income (better teams i know)
Just a topic i thought maybe interesting to discuss going forward

Priority at the moment should be investment in the team, any building work to make the ground bigger should only be done when we are selling out every week or ready for when we get promoted to the championship

I think Bournemouth used to have three sides - only - from memory
The question of 'growth' is always an interesting one. Do you expand before you reach the promised land or after you've arrived there?

So no need to expand the ground
Have a good fa cup run and finish top end of the league will be good for us .
Then Mr Kirk might give cooky some spending money for players .

It will never be less than 5500 even if we lose every game this season

Back in the day, Barrie Hubbard had a rule of thumb to work out how much approximate income every home crowd figure would generate. Summat like take the attendance, subtract number of season tickets, multiply by 'x'.
I wonder if the Kirks play the same game?
I'd really like to know whether these record attendances are generating record takings, or are they diluted by record numbers of free/discounted tickets?

I am absolutely sure they would. Just as I am sure they will not be divulging such detail to we fans.

Ha ha. I'm just thinking that if my guess at Barrie's formula is right, for some matches he'd be multiplying a negative number by 'x'.
Some folk sat near me think that crowd income will come nowhere near covering wage costs. Some kind of acknowledgement that the support from the whole community is making a real difference would be welcome.

I don't think ticket/gate income will cover the wage costs at any club.

"Normal 5, 6 thou".
"Normal".
Mid table L2.
Those of us who remember a Saltergate where five or six grand was only seen when a Prem' outfit visited, that's quite some achievement...

They had 4 sides
Think the memory might be confusing with when they changed the ground round.
It used to be 90 degrees to where it is now.

Exactly. Been to plenty of below 2000 attendances at Saltergate.
