Enjoyed Madueke.

Guehi continues to go about his business in a calmly impressive manner too.

Kane and Walker showed maturity when it mattered.

Bellingham has a knack of scoring at crucial moments.

Youngsters all did themselves favours.

Shouldn't take anything away from this win - an improving Greece neither lose nor concede at home.

Well done England...

The Republic came for a draw.

Literally ten man defence with little or no ambition.

England lacked the invention and tempo to dissect it. They needed to gamble, with both penetrative runs and balls.

Eventually exactly that forced the pen' and daft sending off (booked earlier for blocking a free kick).

The visitors fell apart after that.

Carsley did his job. Got England back into the top tier whilst introducing new talent. He'll learn from the Greece debacle.

Tuchel needs to go one better than Southgate, in other words win a trophy.

No pressure, then...

To be fair we?ll learn from the Greece debacle. Will shut up all the folk clambering for a load of englands attacking talent all to be played.

I do worry about Tuchel - first with Southgate and then Carsley there was a clear progression to the first team from the U21s and more of a Club England mentality.

Not sure Tuchel is like that, he has tended to be in jobs for a short time and not sure how dedicated he will be to bringing players through . It might just set us back 18 months and then will we will be asking Carsley to take the reins back?

I get where you're coming from with this. Tuchel isn't coming in to develop for the future, he's coming in for the here and now to try and win a trophy.

I think you could be absolutely right. The 'Team England' mentality, and the respect from the fans which was fostered by Southgate, has IMO, been totally underestimated by many. Those who think Tuchel is going to breeze in and win the first major trophy England compete for, are living in a deluded fantasy world. No team in the world is entitled to win a major trophy, and there are many countries in Europe and the wider world that have top class players. I heard that clown, Adrian Durham say on Talk Sport recently, something like "Tuchel has got one job to do - win the World Cup'. What a ludicrous statement- guaranteed to create unfounded entitlement and ultimate disappointment.

After a boring first half the second half was more like it, good to see young new players giving a chance instead of the same old dross in the clique, on the whole i don't think carsley did that bad and so called permanent england managers have had worse records. On another note the price of these games is crazy, a mate of mine went and it cost him ?80

It's not a ludicrous statement. It's absolutely true.

I think the World Cup in 26 is going to be a very hard tournament to win, given its spread over the whole of North America. You could have the nightmare situation of for example, playing your group games in Canada and then off to Mexico for the knockouts, at altitude.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

I'm in agreement with you and had a similar discussion last night.

18 months to win the trophy doesn?t give time for progression, he?s been appointed to win. I truly hope he takes no bull but at the same time doesn?t alienate himself with the senior squad as some of them will have there ego?s tested.
