Araujo - Another quality player. Think some of his passes into midfield and through the lines are excellent. Another who will only benefit & get better from regular minutes alongside an experienced player like Dunkley.
Markanday - A real quality player with a wand of a left foot and eye for goal. Can sometimes be on the periphery of a game though due to his lack of physicality, but I think he?s a brilliant player who will hit double figures IMO. Still think we?re yet to see the best of him, which is promising.
Metcalfe - Not sold on him yet, clearly has ability, but think his decision making at times is poor. This is his first foray into the men?s game though so benefit of the doubt for him. I think he?ll find it hard to break into this side and stay in their regular, but definitely a useful squad member.
Thompson - Looked shaky today IMO and got away with one right at the end when he came flying out unconvincingly and got nowhere near the ball when their lad headed onto the roof of the net. Will be able to judge properly once I?ve seen more of him. Will be interesting to see how Cook goes about it with him and Boot this season in terms of who ends up number 1.
Overall, I?d say we look like we?ve utilised the loan market pretty well. Look forward to seeing how they continue to develop over the season.
Great to see Hobson has broke into Barnets first team whilst they?re sat top of the league too. Hopefully he can stay there and do well for them this season before returning to us a better player.

Touching on Max Thompson, first viewing was difficult to judge IMO as for the first 60 minutes of his debut the back four playing in front of him were all over the place and looked a complete shambles. Awful position for a young keeper making his debut.

He needs a run of games as he's not played for a while since leaving Northampton. I like him. He fumbled 1 (probably got blinded by the sun) and missed the punch at the end but I'm pretty confident he'll hold down his place. Kept us in it at 1-2 cos from behind the goal I thought that was it for us before he saved to his left. Put in some good tackles and looked to throw it out at times (I love a long throw counter attack, these can be a real threat).
Not sure what happened with dunkley though when he dropped it at his feet😵💫

As one of the founders of the Araujo fan club, this is concerning. However, I didn?t attend yesterday and I won?t watch the full match replay, so I can simply pretend it never happened.

Yesterday he wasn't great, but not alone in that respect. I think his natural demeanor/body language could suggest he thinks it's easy but I wouldn't read anything at all into that.

I thought he played quite well yesterday and, true to form, found a few quality passes.
I tend to think he would be an ideal fit to play on the left side of a back three and also wonder if he could do a job in midfield.
When he beefs up a bit and gains more experience he will become a very good player in my opinion.

Serious question for you here. When we were absolutely dog water between 2015 - 2021, were you still watching our games?
Because that was when we actually had genuine Bunkum players, and I?m just wondering how you actually coped watching that back then?
The amount of negative stuff I see you spout about one of the most talented squads weve had in years I find baffling, whilst amusing at the same time.

He made a few mistakes yesterday but that didn't faze him. He still wanted the ball and wanted to play with it.
That's what I like about all the loan players, they want the ball and generally look comfortable on it.

Thought that piece of the interview with Cook was very interesting, when asked about Grimes he started talking about how the side was being improved and rebuilt. I think it indicates that a number of the NL winning players are reaching the end of their time here.

I can't remember exactly what he said but remember thinking how well and respectfully he had put it. 1 things for sure, there will be a gradual clear out of some of last year's champions throughout the season

Apologies to Araujo. Have seen most of the full match from YouTube, he is not as inconspicuous as I had recalled. Nothing outstanding, but tidy and makes himself available at all times.
I think I found the so called penalty claim. Laughable.
Colclough loads up to clear the ball, their attacker comes flying in from behind him and of course they both down in a heap. Foul on Coco if anything.

Remember one instance of him dallying on the ball and losing it, but was fine for the rest of the game. Not his best performance noone really shone. Been generally v impressed with him so far, his passing range especially - played a superb ball to Gordon/Dobra between their RB and CB for one of them to run on to. Think he's a good foil to the more physically imposing Dunkley, bit of pace (relatively) and bit better ability on the ball.
