Listen I have been a massive supporter of Boot. But after today's absolute howler I would be dropping him for Donny. Harsh but that was a terrible mistake. The lad from the Toon comes in for me.

it wouldn't surprise me to be fair if that change was made given cook describing their goal as a disgrace. i too like boot and think he has been really good,i also think he was really good today, that moment aside and it was all a bit strange wasn't it, hestitation? indecision? or just an unusual moment, i think boot reads the game very well which is why he is so often in the right position to make saves look comfortable. My biggest dissapointment today though came when boot turned and had a bit of a dig at the north stand, it was late in the game and i think people just wanted a bit more urgency and he reacted, all that said it would be a very very big call to throw thompson into such a big game next week.

Every time someone makes a mistake they get dropped? Great for morale, togetherness and building a brave team who try things. No way should he be dropped.

Cook prefers consistency.

Unfortunately for keepers when they make a mistake it invariably leads to a goal, but in Boots defence he's kept us in more games than he's cost us.

Annoyed, or aroused?
These go to eleven.

Weird how different mistakes are treated differently

Boot made a mistake that cost a goal and Timmy decides to make a thread deriding him

Dobra makes two mistakes that meant we missed out on two goals, Timmy is silent

I think you had better get used to it. The league is tougher with better players who are skilled at frustrating us.
Teams are not going to just roll over and let us win. Last season we went into games expecting to win, things will be tougher now.

If you can't provide post match comments on the match thread (not sure why), any chance you can consolidate your negative comments into a single thread?

You could've started a single post whereby you complain of the 'utter garbage', citing Boot's performance and Dunkley's passing as examples.

Don't start me on Dobra. His decision making in the final third is awful and he couldn't finish his dinner.

He missed a big chance that I?m sure he?s disappointed about, but Dobra was by far the best player on the pitch yesterday. Don?t you agree?

You do spout some utter drivel Tim.
There is one thing for sure we are a better team with him in it.

Having seen the goal again, initial thoughts at the time that Gordon was equally if not majorly at fault seem to be confirmed.

Gordon seems to stops sprinting once he crosses the half way line, assuming (unless he got a call from Boot?) that boot was coming to claim?

Boot only seemed to react once Gordon had pulled out of the chase.

Absolutely bang on.

Boot has been brilliant so far this season and deserves his place in the team. He makes one costly mistake and must be replaced according to our resident footballing genius. Dobra, misses two guilt-edged chances to win the game and misses both, was he criticised - no and quite rightly so. But according to Walton?s football management experience,if a player makes a costly mistake they should be dropped. Flawed logic as always, but I guess we all knew that after yesterday?s result his posts would be splattered once again all over this board.

Just a final thought, if Dobs had put either chance away, would we be having this debate? I think not, we?d all be basking in the delight of another 3 points and Walton be nowhere to be seen?. #finemargins
