You must live in some sort of parallel universe you utter clown, he was playing as the central player behind Griggs, he put one cross in but for the remainder naylor who was playing defensively was going past him, his legs have gone, he never linked up with Grigg all games, take off your jam jar bottom glasses, cook isn?t going to say he was crap is he

Not fit yet, constantly stretching and not tracking back as much as when he came

Do you struggle with reading as well as forming a competent opinion about football?

That?s what I put, that Jacobs was fine, as he usually is when he plays centrally! Yet you respond telling me that he played centrally

And I?m a clown?

🤣

I think we all know he's highly unlikely to start at the weekend.

Think its similar to the old Allot\Niven thing where people were on Allots back because they saw Niven running about like a loon, flying into tackles normally because his first touch had been crap and deemed him to be giving 100% whereas Allot was cleverer than that and was one of those that you only noticed if he had a bad game.

Two good players, who formed a good CM partnership by bringing different qualities and attributes to the starting 11.

I disagree. Jacobs is a good player. He's in cookies plans. It clear he needs game time and a boost of confidence. I'm very happy for him to start

I didn't say I wasn't happy for him to start. I just don't expect him to. Dobra will be back.

Sadly, I think most clubs have fans like this. This internet thingy just gives them a bigger soap box

Gives people with no knowledge a platform for an opinion. Let?s people say things they would not say to people in real life

Just watch Jacob?s closely and see how many times he gives the ball away. Barely ever. In a possession based team it?s essential. He?s not in my starting 11 but having in as a squad player is unreal.

Jacobs was fine, as he usually is when playing central, kept hold of the ball and played some decent passes, got into a few good positions and was part of most of our better play in the first half

Sadly some Town fans seem to have an agenda against him

Totally agree. Jacobs is a decent player. Some people once they take against a player will never appreciate anything good he does. I didn?t rate Quigley and was castigated for that. However I was honest enough to admit when he did well. I am sure Jacobs is better than Quigs. I suppose the difference is sometimes he might look as if he isn?t trying and that is what people hate. However some players are effective even if they don?t look like they are busting a gut. We had the same with Bonnyman years ago with people whinging that he didn?t get his shorts dirty whilst not seeing he was a class player.

Bear in mind Markandy has something wrong with his calf. Cook was tight lipped but did suggest none of the injured are too serious so it could be another 5 changes.

As you said nobody expects Jacobs to start on Saturday if the squad is injury free but some fool will bound to claim that it is proof positive that he's right. I sure most will recognise he has gone down the pecking order this season and is now just a squad player but clearly Cook values him as he singled him out for praise, unprompted.

Basically if you assess last night all the players weren?t quite at the levels of Saturday only by small margins but it shows how close the teams in this league potentially are.
Jacobs and particularly Colclough just looked a bit ring rusty at times be it a bit of mid control or making the odd poor pass.
We are a good footballing side but do make errors at times. It?s just the level we are at. I think all our draws could or should have been wins, but at the same time we could have lost those games as well.

We should not knock the incoming players and just get behind the team.

In my opinion Michael Jacobs is a class player. He's not given credit for some of the work he does, and he's one of the few players we have who can see and execute a precise pass into the box, but I think he's a 60th minute sub these days, not a regular starter. I doubt very much that he'll start on Saturday unless we have players out through injury, but I think either Dobra or Banks will start in place of him.

I think part of the problem is that we have spent all of our time in the lower leagues and as a rough rule of thumb the type of player most appreciated are those that have an energetic battling style, players who are seen to put a lot of effort in, they get stuck in, players like Niven come to mind.

When we have players who make the ball do the work and appear to stroll through a game we are less enthusiastic about them because the effort they put in is not immediately obvious, I put Jacobs and Bonnyman in this category.

I think some people also are impatient and expect a player to be back to their absolute best immediately, even if they haven't played for a while. I have seen it this season in relation to grimes and Jacobs. Give them a few games to get up to speed and then judge their output. We certainly have enough competition and an astute enough manager that we don't need to worry

Are you saying Cook has changed his mind on Jacobs as he took part in over 40 games last season
