They looked a good side, we struggled but we are playing a level higher, so not surprising. I know we?ll get better and better and I?ve got a feeling Fleck will make a real difference.

First 60 we were like a rabbit in headlights. Thet were clearly the better team, fortunately that changed after our 4 subs. Then it became more even and could have gone either way. Why was the pitch overwatered ? You could see spray every time we played it on the floor, slowing the ball down a lot.

Disagree the 15 minutes before thier first they hardly had the ball

All about opinions but we were still 2nd best until subs arrived. Caught in possession mis-placed passes and booted upfield only for them to get possession and attack again. We improved a lot then the game could have gone either way. No doubt they are a good team and will be there or thereabouts but once get get a settled side we should be up with them. Thought Fleck might have started but sadly not. Right back still a problem area though as Mandy wasted in that position.

They were very good to stifle & nullify our midfield, pressed really well into us making mistakes.
Once the subs came on, we started to get wide more & cause problems.
They are a good team & a good marker to where we are

Don't think we should be singling out individuals today. We looked like we had never seen each other before apart from a couple of short spells. Walsall looked sharp until the reached our penalty area but considering all the dangerous situations they didn't create that much through wasteful play.

Thankful we got a point from that shambles

cooks change up with the subs today was brilliant, it totally disrupted them and the energy it gave us was great, you could see how much the players were enjoying it.

We came up against a good side today & have to accept we were second best for a large part of the game. Thought Cookie's changes did the trick & we dominated the last 25 mins until injury time.
Happy we kept at it & came away with a hard earned point.
We didn't show a great deal of quality today but we showed grit & determination & got something out of it. Its a well done to all the lads from me, though I know the idiots will ber out in force
whining that we didn't win 10-0.

Agree with your comments but disappointed with Walsalls gamesmanship that worked in their favour taking the sting out of our momentum with time wasting and fake injuries to create a technical time out for their manager after we made 4 subs and started to get the upper hand

Point won, not great performance, on another day Walsall could have scored 5.

Agree, we will probably finish about mid table. Think next season there needs to be a cull of players within the squad who just aren?t cut out for this league, and bring in better players, especially up front, with pace and directness.
.Good God man give the negativity a rest.

Was also very surprised Dobra lasted the 90, he seemed to revert to how he was when he first arrived, diving around and throwing his hands in the air at the slightest22 touch.

I'll take that today though, they'll be right up there mostly due to Lowe but they played some good stuff

I tend to disagree about Dobra. Several players were non-existent today and rarely touched the ball. Dobra got stuck in and worked his socks off without much support.

I felt the team selection was wrong and it took a long time to change things. They were a big tall side looking for corners and long throws to take advantage of their height advantage all over the pitch. Lining up with a 3-5-2 formation with pace, height, and power up front our defenders struggled to compete. Similarly, up front our attackers were simply outsized and outmuscled. For all his height, Banks may as well be as tall as Markanday.!!! On top of that they could play a bit too and, quite simply, were the best team to visit us this season.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but had we matched them up with a back 3 and added another player into midfield we might have got a bit more joy.

Ultimately, changes were made but after the initial flurry which brought us level they soon got back on top and we ended up hanging on and relieved for the point.

Every team we've played at home have been physically bigger than us. Maybe something to work on in January.

Just arrived on this thread and can only guess some of the harshest critics viewed in absentia.

Walsall are, quite simply, the best side I've seen at ours' for a long time.

They had the lot - organisation, pressing all over the field, strength, then tempo and skill on the break.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with admitting we were second best.

That said both goals were yet again avoidable. A daft pass and allowing their bloke to stroll through midfield unchallenged.

Sometimes someone has to take a yellow for the team.

But we're not too far below the bar they've set.

Wondered if they'd be able to keep up their energy for ninety minutes and found out the answer was 'no'.

When Cook went 'sh*t or bust' - three-two-four-one - we had them on the back foot.

So a positive from a negative: we're not far from competing at the top. Cut out the silly mistakes (yeah, as always) and add some midfield 'bite' and a season of consolidation might yet turn into more...

Hope we can get Fleck fully fit, need a bit more steel in midfield.

They were a decent side, and we could have been a three down at half-time. We came from behind twice, without being at the top of our game, so I'll take the point.

After the equaliser we definitely had the upper hand, did not appreciate the NL tactics of keeper going down for a full team coaching session, which obviously worked as they stifled our momentum again.Always thought there was a rule regarding in match coaching, but probably just imagined it.Teams like Walsall should not need to resort to the fouling and time wasting they employed in the last twenty,as the better team on the day,but I think this ultimately led to us getting a point as they seemed to care more about stifling us than going for the win.

Regarding the ref.,odd decision on a couple of occasions but overall I thought the best we have had at home this season.
Thought Mandy still looks at about 70% of his capabilities and still wasted at the back.
Fielding our best 11 needs to be a priority but glad I don't have to work that out.

On the subject of taking a yellow for the team at the time that Banks lost out in the move for their second goal I said exactly that. Why did he not ensure their player went no further.

In the first half, when we were looking to break quickly from our own penalty area their player made a quick decision to stop Thomson in his tracks. That allowed them to reorganise and he got away without a booking.

Said exactly the same as soon as Banks was pocket picked, four times in four home games the same scenario, could have swapped four yellow cards for eight points possibly.

That?s the modern game. We will only see more and more of it until the authorities take action, which they never will.

Also, why did some of the Walsall players have Lego hair? Local trend inspired by Peaky Blinders?
