Cheek was stood two yards offside for the free kick and stayed offside for the goal, Bromley played the ref by falling over needlessly and given free kicks, Metcalfe unlucky to be booked as he clearly won the ball as it went out of the ground, Bromley players got away with lots of short pulling and holding back, overall a point was fair as we didn?t create enough

Poor performance, created little defended very poorly and s baffling starting line up, especially with the absolute waste of space Jacob?s starting, just get back to back wins, if we started out best side we win

I got fed up with the whole caper last weekend and used Donny's audio site. Took all of 20 seconds to access it with no problems. I've given up on CFC from a media angle.

Tonight was always going to be difficult, against a side that only plays above six feet in the air. I've defended Jacobs in the past, but he shouldn't be playing in a midfield packed with the talent at PCs disposal. To earn and keep a place he needs to be that horrible word, a playmaker, and he isn't. He doesn't get in the game enough for a start - he should be demanding the ball and using it going forward.

Can?t help but feel frustrated that we couldn?t keep the momentum going after Saturday. 13 points from 9 games is not a great return considering we?ve dominated pretty much every game other than Vale away.

As it seems is always the case with league 2, it?s generally a league of inconsistency where anyone can beat anyone in their day, and almost one third of the teams snatch a play off place or better. We just need to click and put a decent run together. Hoping these next 2 games will see us given the chance to play some football as opposed to that bunch of uncultured cloggers tonight bringing us down to their level.

I suspect the next two games will be football matches that will suit us.

Totally agree. I've got a good feeling about both, especially after seeing some of the results tonight. I've not been particularly impressed with anyone we've played, thus far.

Walsall getting pumped at home might bring about a slightly more defensive approach than expected though.

I didn?t watch tonight but I did hear the Radio Sheff commentary (which was excellent).

Re Jacobs. He?s not my favourite player either but I can acknowledge he might well have offered more defensively against the usual Bromley giants than say Markanday. Remember PC has said we are still in a development phase of trying to find the right balance and combinations so I don?t have a problem with us test2ing stuff out.

Four points from two tricky away games will do for me but we could do with a win on Saturday to make it an even better return.

I'd have been surprised if you had grumbled about the RS commentary 😉

Possibly so. Although, I'll take a defensive footballing side over one that boots the ball/man into the sky.

Thought we were the better team and played almost all of the football in the game, Bromley are effective though and looked better than some of the sides we?ve played

First half we played some good stuff, lost our way in second half a bit but still had the best chances to win the game

And I wish Michael Cheek would just **** off

We?ve also learned a little tonight. Grimes will make way for araujo. Berry remains an impact player. Naylor is better in the middle. Grigg and madden are interchangeable. Colcough will be the left winger, dobra in the middle and mandarkay on the right. Jacob?s will be a bit part player as will banks. Oldaker will continue to be the number 6. Looks promising for the year ahead.

Good summary and this is where I am at. With the exception of a certain Mr Fleck who when fit I would hope will be vying for the midfield spot with Oldaker.

Statistically the worst of our attacking players last year

Statistically, Jacobs had 15 goals/assists last season. Which was better than:

Quigley: 14
Colclough: 11
Berry: 10
Grimes: 5
King: 5
Palmer: 4
Williams: 3
Oldaker: 3
Jones: 2
Freckleton: 2
Horton: 2
Hobson: 2
Jessop: 2
Clements: 1
Curtis: 1
Mohiuddin: 1
D'Sena: 1
Hooper: 1
Marshall: 1
Sheckelford: 1

And only bettered by:

Grigg: 29
Mandeville: 25
Dobra: 20
Naylor: 18
Banks: 15

But don't let actual statistics cloud your moronic vendetta against certain players will you.

So he wasnt actually that bad then. Yes he wasnt up there with some of them but he certainly wasnt unproductive last season.

It?s an exam question isn?t it?
If the keeper had parried the shot and it gone to Cheek, he would definitely have been given offside.
As it was he was offside as the kick was taken, but not when the header went in on Boot- he was behind the ball.

Any referees out there?

To be fair, Grigg often deliberately stands offside in similar situations. It?s something Van Nistelroy was one of the first to do.
