Well now Madden getting minutes and Fleck near enough ready, what would be the strongest starters?

Boot

Tanton
Dunkley
Araujo
Gordon

Dobra
Naylor
Fleck
Colclough

Madden
Grigg

Subs:
Thompson
Berry
Mandeville
Grimes
Jacobs
Banks

I'd have Mandeville in over Dobra at the minute. For me, Dobra is a confidence player and he seems be lacking some at the minute. That's my opinion anyway

Dobra is one of the only players we have who is a threat running directly at players, otherwise we end up with all the putter patter passing, I feel Mandy has been squeezed out a bit he didn?t finish last season great due to illness but is one of the most hardworking players and so versatile, imo he should have played up top against Cheltenham, or even centrally instead of metcalfe he is miles better than either of them at this stage in their careers

Right so suddenly Markandy isn't even on the bench?

I think the important change is Araujo in at LCB, Naylor back into midfield. Once we have that shape, your Berry/Coco, Mandy/Markandy, Grigg/Madden are interchangeable depending on managing workload and who we're playing

He certainly doesn't look it yet.

My ideal XI would be;

Boot

Tanton
Araujo
Dunkley
Gordon

Fleck
Naylor

Colclough
Madden
Dobra

Grigg

I don?t think Mandeville will get much game time this season, thought it for a while now.

You may be right but unless he's lost his mojo, I think that would be an error. He adds balance and intelligence to the attacking 3 and I think we are missing that.

In the course of upgrading all areas of the team, I think there?ll be a few that won?t be with us at the start of next season, but as the great man says ?that?s football?

Unlikely we will play 4-4-2 to be fair.

Think we need to see a bit of Fleck before we start saying he's in the best XI etc...on paper and past reputation he probably should be but he's not played much so i think we might need to exercise a bit of caution on him.

It?s a strange set up at the moment , multiple choices for every position bar up top, where we have all our eggs in one basket

Whilst Berry/Colclough and Markanday/Dobra are almost clones, we've no like for like replacement for Mandeville. He plays deeper, retains possession, plays the triangles, defends better than anybody else.

Another change, if he stays fit, is that Fleck adds the balance that we've not seen for years. That means that Banks/DJ/Naylor don't have to play LHS any more and the ball will get moved quicker.

I also think the time is fast approaching when the odd departure out on loan will be more beneficial than retaining a very large squad with some players never getting a game. Perhaps though this might change when the cups come along.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

I don't either. Hope he gets back to his best but he's struggled physically to get up to speed since his injury. There's time though.

For me, Dobra is clearly in a higher class than most players in this League. As has already been pointed out, when we get the ball to him he instantly darts at opposition defenders, putting them under pressure immediately. He is getting better at linking with teammates, but still needs to learn when it's better to pass instead of shooting, and he needs to be more clinical when he does shoot. I think he's very close to becoming a brilliant attacking midfielder who scores and creates goals for others regularly - let's hope it all clicks into place soon. He obviously came off the pitch yesterday feeling disappointed, like the fans, but it could easily have been very different with him having scored 2 or even 3, and us winning comfortably. As for the team/squad in general, I think we're very close to being a promotion-winning side. We could easily have 18 points now and be sitting at the top, and I think it's just a matter of players clicking together as a unit. I see us finishing top three.

I agree with some of this.
I'd go as far to say Dobra is greedy. The shot into the side netting when Berry & Drummond waiting for a tap in was infuriating. Sort out his decision making and we'd be in business.
I know it's obvious, but if we stick the chances away we create/square it in the 6yrd box instead of shooting from an impossible angle ect, we'd be top of the tree - cos we aint shipping goals like we did last season (just conceding daft ones)
