Expectations

People need to have a bit of a reality check, we have come up after years in the abyss of the national league and consolidation is what this season needs to be about, I would be happy with top half, a play off push would be great!
I?d be happy to follow the Stockport model - we will lose games this year, we will draw games and fans need to get over it and not have a meltdown at every point dropped

I don't expect us to win every week. But 2 wins from 7 is below expectations. Given the next few fixtures that could make it a bad start indeed.

A newly built team in a higher league, we were always going to have teething problems, especially with the injuries we've suffered. Take a breath and chill, we'll be fine.

And yet at the start of the season you clearly stated that your expectation was a bottom half finish: https://www.thecfss....pic=73277&st=20
We?re currently 10th, therefore performing above your expectations. Well done to Cook and his back room staff for a very strong start- wouldn?t you agree?

6 of the 7 we have been the better team though Tim. The frustration is poor refereeing, missed chances, and bad luck have denied us - not forgetting a terrible error like yesterday. I still think we will be top 7.

Have you changed your expectations then as we appear to be doing better than what you expected us to achieve ?

Morning Tim, I do agree that 2/7 wins is below expectation, but the shoots of improvement are certainly there, I still think, looking at our squad, when fit, is a genuine play off candidate.
Also I think, during our hiatus from the FL we sort of all got drawn into the, there?s not much difference between the NL and EFL2 train of thought, whereas it might not be a canyon to cross it?s certainly a bit more tricky than us fans maybe thought. But I?d imagine, looking at the calibre of player we?ve brought in, the manager was aware of the challenge.

Spot on, Cartman.
It's early days, but from what I've seen so far we'll have more good days than bad this season. We're currently holding our own in a new league without setting the World on fire.

I fully agree with all your points, did not miss a home game in the NL even though I agreed with the NAPM brigade because CFC is my club, currently feeling we are so lucky at this point in time with the leadership of the Kirk's and PC,but it has not stopped me feeling it has felt more like a loss than a draw as I've walked from the ground after the past three games.

Proof that you can put a positive spin on any stat!
Whilst I don't normally agree with Walton on most things, Cheltenham were crap and should have been seen off by 1pm
If this was a one off rare day fair enough, but that's 6 points dropped at home now against sides who look like they're going to struggle to achieve anything more than Mid table

I see he disappeared after this post. What a mug.
We'll get play offs. Should've won every game bar Vale, injured players now returning, just put Naylor back in midfield and watch us start turning teams over with our quality on the ball.

It's a very long season. We've barely started. Unbeaten at home. Only been outplayed once. The hysterical bedwetting would be embarrassing enough if it wasn't off the back of years in the pit of misery. I fully expect that Cook's skills and our squad depth will see us prove very difficult to beat and I would be surprised and disappointed if come Feb/March when the going gets tough we aren't within reach of the top 3.

Amen
I'd be miffed if he ain't back in midfield on Saturday and Araujo the CB (seeing as Grimes is well out of favour)
