Not sure why you wanted Berry off. At least he drives forward at them and gets a few crosses in. As for Drummond, lets face it, he shouldn't have started, it was too big of an ask for the poor lad. Just not many options at the moment.

Berry wasn?t in the game second half, I?m surprised he lasted as long as he did.

Fair play to Cheltenham, they weathered the stoem of the first 5 minutes and nullified our threat pretty quick, and made changes at HT working out which players to get tight to and which they could afford to let have the ball and stand off of.

Much as PC doesn?t like or currently have one, we need a plan B to turn games like today in to narrow victories.

They prob. did that first half with the usual injury break/team talk. Who to mark out of the game.

Much as PC doesn?t like or currently have one, we need a plan B to turn games like today in to narrow victories.

The main issue today was that we didn't play plan A particularly well. For 99% of the time, Paul Cook's side look after the ball and either force or wait for the opposition to make a mistake, but we were too wasteful with the ball instead of keeping things simple.

Even before the introduction of Araujo, I'd argue that plan B was for Naylor to carry the ball and push forward.

Cheltenham didn't do a job on us today, we made it hardwork for ourselves.

We'll get there.

Just noticed we're tenth.

Tenth.

Despite our frustrations.

And yet to concede more than one - in contrast to some of the daft results in non league!

Okay, a tighter defence is balanced by fewer goals up front.

But come on, I'd take a consolidating tenth here and now...though with players to come in my guess is we'll do better...

Probably in a small minority with this opinion reading other posts, but what sort of service was Drummond actually getting to make any progress?60-70% possession is all well and good in games, but I would swap that for 30% or less if most of that was in the opposition's box.
Stockport and Wrexham have been successful by utilising two in form strikers up front and IMO we are suffering from not having that kind of outlet, I know that is not the PC way but why is it so difficult to actually have more than plan A?
Second halves at home this season have been particularly hard watches.

Its harsh to judge Kane on one performance, the service to him was poor, too many high balls. I want to see Coco and madden start at Donny.

Logged on this evening and genuinely staggered.

Who the effing hell do some think we are? Who they are to call the pound-for-pound most successful manager in football?

Teams fear us. That's why they set up to stifle us. Defend in numbers and hit on the break. A draw a win.

In fact exactly what 'Vale did AT HOME last week.

Now there're legitimate criticisms. For example, relying on a Drummond who clearly isn't capable of leading the line at this level. But how were we to know that without trying him? Should the Manager have turned down the Quigley move that benefitted all parties?!

And does anyone honestly believe the absence of a 'Plan B' style striker won't be addressed when the right man becomes available?

Today was teeth grindingly frustrating. One of a number of teeth grindingly frustrating results thus far. One of numerous teeth grindingly frustrating performances throughout Paul Cook's tenures.

But look where he's brought us to. Look at the quality of our squad. Look at his record.

Those calling him and the Dobra who ran 'em ragged for long periods should really be the ones hanging their heads in shame...

i think its easy to forget that we had a number of players out there today with very limited league experience, tanton, metcalfe, drummond for starters, add to that berry, dobra and even markandy, (not even sure oldaker has played many games above non league level) non seasoned pros, plus new partnerships in their early stages all over the pitch. i feel once we get some of those players back in ( colclough, madden, fleck, grigg) and playing for longer periods of the game we will see those little percentage differences that turn 1 point into 3 more regularly.

Is Campbell injured? I think he?s offered more than Tanton going forward, though Tanton is decent and has obvious talent.
These go to eleven.

Indeed.

I think the bookmakers fancying us this season went to people's heads a bit.

A frustrating game today, on the face of it - but I'm not frustrated by the fact that we are clearly a competitive team. No one has battered us and we haven't been outclassed. Yes there are areas we need to improve on and everyone can see what they are. Luckily we've got the best manager in the league to sort it out.
The greatest miscarriage of justice since my case against the producers of the Never Ending Story

Savvy league. Clear to me there is no walkover. Let?s all forget last season and focus on professional outfits and footballers!

We can all have a hissy fit on what should have been. Very interesting league. There may well be lots of disappointment this season but rest assured we are not non league 😂👍

it certainly is a better league than NL, teams more streetwise and better organised. this season is still in it's infancy, i can see us going on a good run once we fully get to grips with it.

For the 2nd week we can't blame the ref who had a reasonable game nothing too contentious, a bizarre booking of Tatton maybe, which probably caused us to lose concentration (poor by us) resulting in their goal, both sides had a shout for a pen but he was consistent. However he did breach my tolerance levels on time keeping, 7 subs, player booked for time wasting, a 3 minute shemozle after their goal, 4 'time outs' all taking a minute plus, the lost time could have cost 2 maybe 3 more attacks.

Quiz question, many moons ago yesterday's ref sent off an opponent at the B2net for an offence that I doubt any spectator witnessed. The said player later played (allegedly)for Town. Who was the player. Oh and we lost 1-0 the goal coming in added time
