I did the like for like comparison over the last couple of seasons but this season is pretty much impossible given the gap since we were last here.

However given our pre season predictions of promotion, might be worth weighing up how the 4 promoted sides were doing in comparison each week?

So after 6 games:

1. Stockport (Champions) LLDWLD = 5 points
2. Wrexham (Promoted) LDWDDW = 9 points
3. Mansfield (Promoted) DWDDWD = 10 points
7. Crawley (Playoffs) WDWLLD = 8 points

Although I look at the table after ten games, I don't think you can gain much from each team's position until after the Christmas and New Year games are done and dusted. I said before the season started, I'd be happy if we end up mid table at the end of the day.

I think we've done very well up to now with the injuries we sustained during pre-season.
To sit comfortably mid table atm with points on the board while not being full strength is pleasing.
I think when we are firing on all cylinders, we'll be climbing the table.
Still think we need a replacement for Quigley tho

You can get out this league and still have the leeway to lose the best part of 18 games. Which is what Crawley lost last season I believe. Doncaster were also way off it until the post Xmas run. Absolutely loads of football to played & zero reason to folk to be panicking.

The top and bottom is that it?s a fair start to the season , we have played well in every game bar one and even in that it was 1-0 away.

It?s obvious we need the defensive midfield freshening up , banks has played well but away from home he should not be played there, time to bring Naylor back in to partner Oldaker who was much missed, the defensive pairing was a mistake by cooky, nobody in there strong enough to take control

Upfront is a problem but not a huge one if we control midfield we can bring our quality forwards into play more, I?d play Mandy as the furthest forward, just such an intelligent player

We just failed to control the game like normal won?t happen saturday

We're not having the 'rub of the green' at the moment with fine lines making a big difference for example, we lose to Gillingham after having a goal ruled out that wasn't offside, then lose to PV to a goal that was offside.....Football can be cruel at times, but I'm confident things will balance out over the course of the season. Another thought is that we have already played two of the teams away from home, who are predicated to be up there and we lost by the finest of margins....

It's a good start taking into account 1) injuries 2) ridiculous decisions going against us by officials 3) the number of missed chances against Gillingham. We should've won every match bar Port Vale in the league so far. These next few games without Grigg will be crucial in terms of how we navigate them.

We should beat Cheltenham. They aren't going to be very good are they? Perhaps a concern if they're all 6ft+ monsters.

I think we?re seeing a team in transition, from dominating non league last season we?re looking to upgrade the side for this level. As Stockport did, they shipped most of their title winning players out by the second season, I think we?ll do the same. I reckon a number of familiar faces will no longer be here in 12 months time.

I don?t think we?re going for it as a club in the same way as last season, I think we?ll be happy with consolidation this year. That?s why they seem relaxed about being a little short in the strikers position, they?re willing to bide their time over a few transfer windows to get the upgrades they want.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

Agree with your comments, but gave up on the 'balancing out' theory soon after the Darren Brown days.Conspiracy.....noooo.

Well, you got it.
Looks like the second reference might have been too subtle.
