Fascinating section from 10.30am Sundays looking at the origins of football songs and what they mean to fans.

Done Blue Moon, Sunshine on Leith, Forest?.didnt discount doing Sailing in the next 7 weeks? tease!

Well worth a listen anyway.

Songs even! 😂

We Are Sailing has been mentioned by Webb and Berry in interviews, Berry in particular was quite moved by it during a break in play apparently.

Scrap Mr B****Y Blue Sky or whatever it is and get We are Sailing pumped out at the start of the game.

I sort of disagree, i quite like the fact that We Are Sailing has its place towards the end of games. It always sounds really good as the final whistle is approaching, not sure it would work as a pre match song.

Think I'm in a tiny minority, but I really dislike We Are Sailing and its up there (or down there) with Sweet Caroline & England for me!

Really?

We've been singing it for decades. Absolute quality Town song. Was utterly outstanding against WBA in the cup a couple of years ago. Even the WBA fans loved it.

Fully agree not sure why it isn?t, if your having a club anthem a tradition would be before and at the end great idea, gives an identity for future generations
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

I do agree Mr blue sky needs binning, but there's gotta be better more upbeat runouts than sailing.. it's fine where it is, after the final whistle, make it something that lifts the crowd before the game, not sends them to sleep.
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

We are sailing sung loud and proud makes my hairs on my arms stand up and long may that continue. The only times another song made that happen was simply the best at Old Trafford in 97 and We will take the Anglo Scottish cup for just another year at Meadow Lane in 81. Would be quite nice if Rod Stewart could lead a rendition of we are sailing at the ground.

As a celtic fan, he's not likely to rock up a ground where a team plays in blue, and has also had a union jack shirt...

I?m happy for it to be a first and last tbh, but something uplifting instead of Mr Blue Bunkum at the start would suffice lol

I thought the previous regime had looked at the possibility of him doing a concert here but apparently his fee was extreme. I think that?s how I remember it anyway!

You would think he'd do us one for free, seeing as we beat them in the cup. 🤣

How about Sirius by The Alan Parsons Project (the intro music for the Chicago Bulls for many years) leading into War Machine by AC/DC
