As they appear to me mounting I?m just seeking some clarity on what we know ? What is their injury? Time out expected ?

Mandeville -
Madden - 2 months ?
Naylor - available for sat ?
Sheckleford - 2 months ?
Corclough - ?

I imagine I?m missing some players and definitely missing details. Any help appreciated

Shecks and Palmer, due to comments from DW I think, mentioning months, could well be the end of the year at best imho.

PC certainly has his work cut out in the next couple of weeks balancing this 22 man squad. A number of players with medium/long term injuries taking them well past the time he has submit his squad list and others with questionable fitness levels. I suppose a couple of 20 year olds would help the situation.

Challenging situation indeed. Key thing for me is that grimes is now fit and hopefully Naylor is fit. If that?s the case I think we have enough to shuffle around

Spoke to Palmer when I was in the corporate area on Friday he starts training again in a few weeks.

I'm surprised we haven't brought in a couple of under 21s who've been jettisoned by the top clubs, but a month ago all was looking fine and dandy, who'd be a football manager 🤔, mind you I'd try it for a month on a four year contract, because I'm sure I'd be sacked after the calendar turned 😁.

Cooks post match interview
Mandeville out ?for quite a period of time?he?s done his ankle?

However very clear we should see one or two before Crewe

Wonder if that Blackburn winger mentioned in the tweet on the rumours thread is replacement as he doesn't fit the under 21 bracket

The first question is - how long is a few weeks?

The second question being - how long before he is match fit?

Then thirdly - how many weeks before the transfer window reopens will he be match fit for?

Similar questions will be under consideration regarding Sheckleford and now Mandeville.

The answers determine whether or not he/they should be included in our 22 man squad when we have to name it.

As per the latest Paul Cook Derbyshire comments around transitional phase\ injuries I genuinely wonder how are fan base may react if things don't go our this next few weeks.

I get the feeling we'll ride things out ok.

I reckon the vast majority would be happy if we even have a small chance at reaching the playoffs. Don't think any of us actually believe that we are favourites for the league. I for 1 would be happy with a decent season and stay in the league.

It's disappointing that some of this has been forced on us by injuries so early in the season, but what's important for me is that we don't lose our identity.

Injuries dictate, but there's always a risk with bringing in loan players from Premier League and Championship clubs, trying to gauge how they will adjust and react. Having said that, I've just watched the 5 minute interview with Harvey Araujo and for a young lad, he speaks very well. It's also probably fair to say that Markanday arrives here with a point to prove.

Think Cook is getting ahead of it and trying to manage expectations. Compared to last year where the squad was basically sorted in May, we?ve got a lot of gelling to do yet. But if/when it clicks, we could be a real force

Last season we got 98 points to win the league.

Last season Crawley made the playoffs with 70 points.

So should we lose a fair few more games this season we could still flirt with the playoffs.

As such, as supporters we need to show patience throughout the season and appreciate where we have come from, how we are building, and accept our targets might take a little time.
