One's a forward, the other's a midfielder, your point is?

Can we put this to bed please?
Paul Cook did not think that Joe Quigley was good enough for L2. Under any circumstances.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Port vale did a number on us today, they stopped our fullbacks getting forward they capitalised on our reluctance to go long and forced us into passing errors, but we were victims of our own downfall starting with a poor decision by the manager to go with a kid and a non tacking player in banks as a defensive duo, huge mistake away-it needed a more robust midfield , today was ideal for Naylor to go back in, away from we need to be a more solid outfit , if we can take one plus the centre half who came on araujo looks class, 2 brilliant passes in a short space of time, I?d start him.
Upfront is a massive problem, I suspected Grigg was not going to be as effective in this league, he barely touched the ball before injury and is very isolated in this better league, we are desperate for somebody who can make it stick, we did the right thing selling quigley but we needed a replacement, 6 games in and no goal from a striker is worrying

I would agree up front is a huge problem. I am a fan of Grigg, but? we don?t have anyone else League 2 standard. There is no Plan B. And before someone says Madden he hasn?t played that role for years.
As for today, Port Vale dominated the whole match. We never seen to cope with a high press and runners from midfield. Yes they were big and strong but they also played football.

We can argue all we want about how effective Grigg and Quigley would have been, we now have neither. We will end up rushing Madden back or sticking with Drummond. I have seen a few snips of Drummonds and nothing has lead me to believe he is a loan forward even playing three divisions below where we are now, and Madden who knows.

Ollie Banks next week? What a situation☹️

At least we are consistent 2 wins 2 draws 2 lost. 8pts from 6 games. If we continue with that form we will average around 60pts and be safe. Although I think we are better than this current form. We just need to start firing and put a run together.

Least of our problems, Dunkley can do that fine and I?d rather give Araujo a go than Grimes. Vale had us completely sussed throughout most of the game, went man for man pressing us high and we had no outlet so we continually lost possession. Wingers weren?t involved whatsoever, both weak as p**s today, too high up the pitch when Vale had the ball allowing them to run at our fullbacks 1v1. Midfield of Bansk and Metcalfe should be controlling games when they have the ball but kept knocking it out of play. Don?t know why Cook thinks we can come to Vale?s gaff with no DM and not suffer because of it.

Agree with all that mate , that's what we were saying coming home.

Not sure when Madden last played the loan striker role if he ever did. Even if fit he doesn?t look like a player capable or willing to flog himself to death like Grigg did chasing lost causes. Cook has some thinking to do this week.

Best ways ligaments worst ways Tendon was Webb?s own words. Shakes head! Probably better off saying nothing at this stage

Either way, we best be on the phone tomorrow to some free agents. It was worth doing before, now it's imperative.

Then in typical Webb fashion he said something like ?Will is distraught in there, he knows he?s out for at least a week or two, best ways?

So make sense of that if you can?

If you count the 3 behind the one as strikers they have scored the majority of our goals.

As far as the one striker role is concerned I thought Grigg had scored a goal which is one more than no goal.

Did you go to the friendly against forest? Madden was chasing lost causes, tracking back and seemed to put a shift in. He definitely has it in his locker, so don't despair just yet.

They aren?t strikers and we all know the goal given to Grigg at Crewe should have been Naylors. All that said, you must agree we are very short in the No. 9 slot!
