I?m not saying we will go down but this summer takes me back to summer of 2011, when we were desperately short in several areas.
Hope a few more incomings materialise before the 9th.

They'll be wanted in the National League, it's whether they want to go back there

Well I'll bet you're in constant demand for delivering inspirational speeches! Might I venture to suggest a change of user name to SWB (Soggy Wet Blanket)?

Think he made a couple of good points though. It is arguable that there is imbalance in the squad and that the injuries may make trading players more difficult.

I agree with that. I?d say the spine of the squad is probably good enough to go up again, but once you look at the rest of the squad that?s when doubts start creeping in. I don?t think at all we will go down, but expecting to finish between 8th and 14th place.
Time will tell, but it?s looking more like a 3 year plan to challenge to me.

I?d love to be proven wrong and Cookie takes us up again.

My thoughts entirely, really disappointed with the transfer business
Extensions handed to the likes of Quigley just didn?t make sense
Going into the new season with no improvement in the strike force is demoralising

Let us get back to basics shall we?
Last season the problem was that we needed to get promoted from the NL back into the EFL.
So, job done.
This coming season the problem is that we need to ensure we do not drop back into the NL. Anything above that is a bonus..
I think our squad is good enough to achieve that even though I have not witnessed much of L2 for 6 seasons.
The next problem will be regarding how to get back into L1.
So, please, one step at a time.

I'm detecting a feeling of generally despondancy on here. Again, I think there will be a few rabbits out of the hat before the season starts and yes, tbh, some players will need to leave.
We might even go with a 3-5-2 set up or similar but maybe this evening's perfromance might give a bit of an indicator where we are. If Cook fails to address the obvious shortcomings, then he will come in for some perhaps deserved flak. He's not daft. Sometimes you have to wait for the right player - a bit like dating - not the first person you meet etc. Interesting 3wks to come but I reckon there'll be some movement in and out.
Maybe the Scunthorpe game is a pointer. If we get battered then yes, issues. Patience.

I have reviewed my expectations downwards and think a few others have too. I was hoping for outgoing activity to allow room for incomings before our preseason is over and that is now questionable.

It does seem with a competitive budget things are a bit flat. Hold tight.
